Choice of opponent's boxer
Hello everyone .

This is a message for the developers and I would also like to know what other players think of it.

On the beta, we couldn't see which boxer had chosen our opponent. There were few so it was not disturbing. But when the game comes out, there will be plenty to choose from. We could search for games, find our opponent and choose our boxer together. Have a balanced fight and be able to choose without complex boxers with a lower general level. Otherwise it is to take the risk that our opponent takes the one with the best characteristics and in the end everyone will take the same boxers

The idea is you pick the boxer that suits your style. It would be less balanced if you start picking your fighters based on what the other person picks, or try to counter pick. Every fighter has weaknesses, but also the player. based on what we saw from the betas, nobody is 'god tier' with their stats. I am sure some will be picked more than others, but more often than not the better player wins regardless of if their stats are lower.

no, I don't agree with you. I am a good fight night player. I really like taking boxers like Daniel Jacob who has 85 stats. If opposite the other takes Robinson who has 96 it is almost impossible to win. unless you are facing a really beginner player.

Yup pretty much. i like giving myself a challenge so I will pick guys who are like a tier or 2 below my opposition. But If I'm facing someone who is using a top tier guy I have to be closer in stats.

Not necessarily to take exactly a boxer with the same stats. On Fight Night it was rather by palliation. I pray the example of Daniel Jacob in Middle who has 85 in Overhall. You could face boxers Carlos Monzon 89
Jake Lamotta 87
Ronald Wright 87
Kelly Pavlik 86
Erislandy Lara 86
Fernando Vargas 86
Danny Jacobs 85
Jermain Taylor 84
Peter Manfredo Jr 84
Sergio Mora 84
Anthony Mundin 84

on the other hand, there is no need to choose Jacob if there is a Leonard at 93 in front, even worse a Robinson at 96.
Many took Robinson because he was really above all. Clearly superior. There's André Bishop (Fictional Boxer from story mode) Who has 95 or 94 in Overhall but he's still below. duplicates are not interesting.

Were you a fight night player?

I intend to play with all the boxers, there will necessarily be some that I prefer.

that's why I played middleweight a lot on Fight Night Champion. this was split into Welter and Middle. There were plenty of interesting fights to be had.

I like it better if you don't know the boxer your opponent is picking. If you are trying to play competitively then pick the fighter you are best with. The stats don't matter if you can't utilize their style properly in this game. If you aren't fighting competitively then pick the fighter you want to play as and accept you might lose.

What you are suggesting would absolutely positively result in people counter-picking to exploit their opponent's weaknesses or to bait someone into picking one thing then changing characters at the last second before selection ends.

Just no. Absolutely not. Pick who you want and not based on what your opponent is picking. That's cheesy.

This is not fight night and there is way more to each fighter than their overall number.

Yeah I played fight night since 2004. My favorite was round 4.

Yes round 4 was really good.

I have to agree. I thought i was good in the beta and 90% of the time i used Benn and of course id be fighting Roy nearly every time and i won most of my fights and it wasnt that difficult. I found that i could outbox people pretty easily while if i tried to slug with Roy id get into trouble. I think and seriously hope that skills and not stats is what determines the winner. If thats the case then knowing who your opponent picks will be irrelevant and this will be yet another reason this can be the greatest boxing game ever made.

Mine too. I got ranked as high as #5 and won a regional in the las vegas tournament they had. I lost in the final to go to vegas though.

That is never how it works. I remember on both FN Champion, every UFC game that had online support, and even fun games like mortal kombat online will basically see people picking their fighters based on who has the biggest advantage against them. It is awful. lol
