how to counter punch power punches?

Can anyone who is good at countering power shots, can you share any strategy? Do you block or back away from the power punch, and then throw a jab or hook? I understand it is situational but I block power hooks but don't seem to get the "flash" after landing a punch after the miss. I have the timing or something wrong.

You have to use head movement to avoid power shots. You dont get counter opportunities by only blocking. When they miss there will be an opening to throw a punch. What punch you throw will be based on your distance and the opening he gives you.

You have to dodge the blows by swinging so L2.
Make sure you have enough distance and are not completely on the opponent then it will work.

slightly move backwards, hold block and lean backwards.

OK, thanks for sharing that, didn't know it was more helpful to use L2 and lean to avoid the shot.

Weaving back is the only solution ive found rn to the tracking on power shots.

Lean back but if you want to counter, you and your opponent both need a good network connection. Otherwise, you need precognition and throw just before the punch lands.

R1 and movement under the attacking hand, then body-head. Against Wilder with his same type of collective farm punch - it works perfectly)

Just power punch spam back, maybe ur lucky.... Power Punch spamming is meta and totally OP

I've been catching people right in between their combos and getting knockdowns with just regular punches.

As others have said, leaning backwards. Ideally you'd be able to slip from side to side, but because the multiplayer is so trash at the moment it's basically just gambling when you try that, because even if you time it perfectly, you didn't because what you see on the screen and what is "actually happening" almost never matches up.
