Why is the framerate so low when playing in 4K resolution?

I play in 4k with no general FPS issues

i just f4ed a guy usin uski and he had us at 4fps just so he can land. dude would slid away from my punches and 3 drained me then he would run up while im still in a slow swing and tee off. i had to go

I am also noticing a lot of lag and frame rate issues/slowdowns during online fights.

I forgot to mention that I have a 3050 graphics card and can run other 4K games perfectly fine.

What kind of GPU do I need to run this one in 4K 60fps?

No it’s not the GPU it’s CPU. I have a gaming desktop and laptop. The game isn’t well optimized and hasn’t been from day 1. The gpu is fine but likely the CPU is holding it back. The way to test CPU bottlenecks is to run low to high resolution. If the FPS is very similar it’s cpu dependent.

I tried playing it at 1920x1080 resolution and the framerate was fine. It's just 4K resolution that's giving me problems.

I have an i7 processor, so again I would ask how much more is required to run this properly.

Sorry I am used to replying regarding cpu limitations more than GPU. For 4k 60 stable I’d think a 3070 would be the baseline as it’s close to a 2080Ti from the previous gen. If upgrading a GPU maybe consider how viable you want it to last for 4k gaming. I think most ultra 4k games are best suited with a 4090 as 4k really is an expensive resolution. There are good deals on 3090s I think and you won’t be vram limited in any games like star citizen.
