I find it to be better balanced than fightnight but with far more bugs(experience ruin bugs) and less content, PVP wise it's more immersive boxing experience than fight night but longer learning curve.
So you guys think it's worth buying then?
I think so. I haven't played a boxing game since Fight Night 3 and I'm loving this game.
Keep in mind it's an early access game. So things are still being fine tuned and some core mechanics can change. Like just recently, throwing punches while your stamina isn't full makes your max stamina bar decrease faster. And body blows do more to your max stamina bar now, too. It's also now harder to dodge punches because their hands follow your head more than it used to. And if you throw too many punches with the same hand in a certain amount of time, your punch becomes very slow.
Those are things that were just changed recently. This and other things may be fine tuned again, and again. Who knows.
One thing I think is cool about this game is how the fighters move around. I'm happy with my purchase.
Would you see it's more realistic than the fight night games or does it feel very arcadey?
Other two: a you get fat
Undisputed: Modern.
FNC: 12 years old.
Undisputed: Highly active devs that listen to the community.
FNC: EA sports don't have glitches in their eyes. Some outstanding, and highly reported glitches still remain 12 years later.
Undisputed: Every boxer is unique.
FNC: Every boxer is pretty much generic, with different colour skin, different build, slightly different style. But once you get used to the game, you realise they're too much alike.
Undisputed: Being built in-cooperation with the boxing gamer community, with gamers in mind.
FNC: Built being closed doors, with profit in mind.
FNC: The unchallenged GOAT for over a decade.
Undisputed: Not a descendent of FNC, but most of the community helping build the game, with gameplay feedback are FNC veterans
I wish people that commented actually had the game. What you are saying about both games is so amazingly inaccurate. It's clear you haven't played either of them that much. Fight Night actually has MANY MORE styles of boxing currently than this game.
OP, I want the game to succeed and as it stands now, it's not a bad purchase if you are a boxing fan and are willing to take a risk with your money that it MAY not improve or even come out for the full release. It very well could improve but there are a LOT of things in the game that aren't near completed or possibly even started. We don't even have 35% of the fighters and many of the one's in game are incomplete with missing traits. Many things that people really hope can change are still the same as when the game was in early beta form two years ago (most animations and inability to use fluid movement with punching simultaneously). The punching animations and especially frame buffers/windows need drastic reworking but very little ever is discussed by the developers in regard to the more systemic issues. Going off their actual posted roadmap....it's not possible to get this game out in 2024. Just getting actual commentary in game that makes sense doesn't seem feasible at this point...sadly. I really hope I am horribly wrong.
As hard as I am on this game, it's because I am a boxing fanatic. If the devs show more transparency with what is going on with the game and include some real patches I will be the first to sing a different tune. I mean people are giving this game a pass on not having the ability to switch stances and clinch in online matches and that is just crazy talk.
You and me both.
Those are my feelings exactly, this is a game 10 years newer than Fight Night but... it feels like it's controls and fluidity have taken steps back. They need to cut out the p2p stuff and pony up for some real servers too because otherwise it's hard to even wanna grow accustomed to their controls.... when the game lags constantly.
That was indeed the general consensus but I really liked champion and think it was the best in the series but I get how a lot of the community liked round 4 because of the blocking issue. This game doesn’t auto block and it is an area that could be great. If they make it more skillful and improve the countering system with more directional sway for pullback counters it will improve the meta a lot.
