Why Doesn't Jimmy EVER Kill You?
He can't have you finding out his secrets, so why doesn't he just kill you? He knocks you out and drags you to a closet, he doesn't even lock the door and he never even destroys the spirit box (I haven't finished watching somebody play it so I don't know if there's a good reason for why it's not destroyed)

Plot armor. Otherwise there is no 'game'. It'd be nice to get a hard mode but idk how that would work out at this point.

There is a hard mode! But it's not that hard - you don't die if he hits you. The problem is in any story game, if you die you have to start again, which is very boring.

Jimmy clearly has mental trauma due to all the previous events he endured/participated in and cannot bring himself to directly kill a hotel guest, which you are. Give me my No Prize! (If you get that reference).

It's not really plot armor if the enemy can kill you without trouble and decides not to

Well create checkpoints
There are checkpoints..
Also, the game would be way too hard, not to say outright tedious, if he killed you and you constantly had to restart from scratch. That guarantees ragequit

Well put in an option to turn on/off permadeath

Permadeath is definitly not boring. Nothing makes you feel more alive than having only one life. Everything becomes suddenly more exciting when you play this way because you could die at any moment and have to restart all over again. If Doom Eternal has that mode and we talking about a 20 hours campaign, I don't understand why this game couldn't get it also if the difficulty is set right. Permadeath is far from being what you call ''boring''!

It doesn't make any sense to die - you can't un-know a story once you know it, most of the stuff you 'collect' in this isn't physical, it's a record of what you've seen, so you'd have to go around finding and seeing stuff you've already found and seen and know about. I think it'd be boring. But I could just add it anyway, like a 'super extreme' mode where you die instantly. Or after three hits. Maybe.

More like 30-40 hour gameplay when you're trying not do die at all

You'd think he'd at least tie her up like the rest of her friends. Especially after a few whacks.

i dont know whats wrong with people wanted tedious and padded out gameplay lmao.
"LOOK AT MY SICK SKILL BROS I JUST SAVE AND SPAM RELOAD KEKW I AINT DYIN ON PERMA DEATH" it doesnt matter how difficult you want something to be people will find a way to cheese and they wont care what you think when they cheesed Like people are silly lmao; all the game does is remove the I have to save my game step.

Well he kind of explains that himself though. He says he's been waiting for somebody like maya (with this burning form within or smth) and wants to keep her. Guess that's why

Ok makes sense, but then again like saranacGator said: Tie her up

As someone who has zealously advocated for an easy mode where Jimmy isn't jumping you, I want to say I am also very supportive of a "Jimmy extreme murder mode" because even though I would not find it fun, others would, and increasing options and choices for players who like different things (as long as they do not cause inordinate amount of resources to implement) is a good thing. IMO.
CokedBadger Mar 17, 2021 @ 9:16am
Guys, I'm not saying "This game should have a permadeath", I'm saying he knocks you out and drags you to a closet, when really he should've been killing you and you've been sent back to a checkpoint, at no point did I ever say I wanted permadeath

There's at least a million games where you die and are reset to a checkpoint

Unless it's explained WHY he doesn't kill you, this is kinda dumb
