Saving Vakoom

How does one save the VaKoom(Elephant looking creature). The multitool doesn't seem to do anything even after unlocking the ability to remove oil. Wont let me plant anything around it either

Hello there Infamouse. There should have been a tutorial triggered that tries to explain the process (and once triggered, all tutorials can be viewed in your journal) but if it for some reason did not trigger or additional guidance is needed, i will spoiler tag some more assistance below.

Sick beasts can be scanned in order to gather information on what is ailing them, which in turn unlocks an antidote for Bahhan to cook.

I'm having the same problem, no tutorial popped up. I tried following the advice given above but that did not work either, spoilery details: I went back to Bahhan but I can't speak to him, he's just standing in the kitchen and pops up "I'm busy" when I try.

I got no tutorial either, but I figured it out when I went to cook food for the crew and saw the antidotes listed. Every animal needs a different antidote, though, so the one you make will only work for the exact creature scanned.

Thank you for this thread because I've found a couple animals and when scanned all they say is they need help; doesn't tell you how. I'll try to get something to trigger with bahhan.

I was stuck on this same thing.. scanning and then it saying "it needs help" yes.. but with what.. :P

I found a slendeer. I made antidite, but it doesn't take it. I haven't gotten around to give the cure for the vakoom though, does it need to trigger that first?

Are you using the correct antidote? Each one is made for a specific beast and the their descriptions should mention which area that beast is found in.

So I was able to make a cure for the first VaKoom that i found, but I have since then found a second one and the cure is no longer available to be made. Same with a second Slendeer. Please help

Every animal requires its own antidote and to learn how to make it, you must scan the animal with the scanner. Hope that helps!

I found that as soon as you are told to report back go back immediately and speak to him after scanning the creature. It seems to glitch out otherwise.

BAHHAN shows recipe of antidote, it requires "DENSE KERNEL MIX" but I don't have it. How to get that?

The "Dense Kernel Mix" is an ingredient that can be harvested from any plant indigenous to the quarry region (either the excavation site or the carved slope areas). You will need use fertilizer on them first in order to be able to harvest said ingredient though.
