What happened to Yu-Gi-Oh?

Note: i mainly play on PS5. Just thought i post this since I'm on my PC at the moment.

What is up with the way people play this game?

Everyone does the same stuff. They play the same decks. They take forever to do everything. There are some of the most unfair cards ever that people can bring out on their first turn when going first. Wins them the duel unless you are on purpose looking to screw them over and ruin their good time.

Nobody experiments. They all look up guides to make lame decks with no soul that suck the fun out of the game.

I have to play anti-meta "bully" decks and slow the game down to a crawl where they aren't allowed to do anything at all. And I do win much more than I lose. But it's not fun. Not even a little bit. More fun than playing the game legitimately in any way.

Also, too many lame-ass anime girl cards. I know it has always been part of the series. But it was never this cringe and cancerous. A grown man playing a deck with little anime girls in it needs to be investigated by the FBI immediately. A young girl is free from criticism there. But we all know it is creepy massively overweight or underweight dudes that need a shower and need to get a girlfriend. That is the average card game player and we all know it.

If they had various classic modes available at all times, the game would actually be great for those that haven't drank the kool-aid of modern, boring, long-ass-turn Yu-Gi-Oh. The people fine with how things are can stay there away from normal people.

Until then, I'll just play with my friends without all the BS of the main game. It's a shame, because the game itself is of a really high quality.

Thanks for reading my rant. If you disagree, you do you. I'm sure your comments will stick in my mind for decades and keep me up at night and not just go in one ear and out the other. I know there are plenty of people that feel the same as me. Maybe not about the anime girl thing. Probably feel personally attacked.

But, OG fans should get more support instead of a short-term event. Permanent modes that bring the game back to it's former glory. The option should be there.

By "every card" I meant extra deck specifically. Sure we have a lot of monster looking cards but most of the generic extra deck monsters are anime girls. Almost every deck ends on ip masquerena, little knight, apollousa, promethean princess ect. Then there are extenders/tech cards like baronne, underworld goddess, hiita ect. When you see it every single game (plus most of them have summon animation) it feels like there are only anime girls ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Way to move the goal post but I'll let it slide this time. Like what was mentioned, there are plenty of other extra deck options and you do have 'A' point that a good chunk of them are anime girls (as if that's a bad thing in and of itself?) To follow up you are also missing the knightmare unicorn/phoenix/gryphon, unchained abomination, herald of the arc light, Number 75: Bamboozling gossip shadow, cross sheep, mudragon, stardust charge & coral dragon, worldsea dragon zealantis, hieratic seal of heavenly spheres, thunder dragon collosus, number 11: big eye, time thief redoer, borreload savage dragon, adamancipator dragite, psy-framelord omega and zeta, almost all of which are present even in the current meta game of decks, just because people are relying on these anime girls as options as part of their end boards does not mean they are the only ones being used.

Edit: How could I also forget auroradon, halq and verte anaconda.
