It really would be.

I will always approve of boss monsters with requirements of playing the entire deck instead of just an engine

That is an example of something that would draw me back to the game, especially since I missed Dragon Rulers back when they first released. I'm already wondering if I can revive my funky twist on Chaos Dragons with this, and wondering if this is enough to make Starry Night do anything at all. Depends on what the level 7 light and dark rulers actually do.

Monarch 2.0?

The light and dark are just XYZs. Decent effects but completely unsplashable.

That would be neat to see
Also now that new Dragon Rulers are announced somebody should try and cook those up with the new Dragonmaid cards

Thing is, Disaster implies that there will be a level 7 Light and Dark Dragon ruler that's yet to be revealed, because it's effect demands a "Dragon Ruler" of each element to be attached in order for it to gain stats and become a Towers monster. XYZ monsters do not have levels and there's no psudo-rank up effect that would allow it to be overlayed on top of one of them, and it's attaching effect specifically calls for monsters with a level. As it stands there is no way to actually activate this effect.

This tells me this is not the whole reveal and we can expect at least two more Dragon Ruler cards, being the main-deck adult versions of the two baby cards we've seen here.

It doesn't. If you read closer, Disaster actually requires Rank 7 monsters instead of level 7 monsters like you might expect. You make the Light and Dark rulers out of the four elements, and then those four elements are sent to the graveyard by making Disaster out of the two of them in time to be reattached. Technically, the baby rulers would also count if you used some other shenanigans to get them onto him.

That rank 7 you're thinking of needs 2 rank 7s. You get that by making the Light n Dark ones with the daddy dragons under them then use those to make the big bad, ideally with the quickplay spell on your opponent's turn.
you need spector + 1 level 7 dragon ruler (i think it could just be any of them)

1. discard spector and tempest =>add burner and blaster
2. discard blaster for burner to special summon blaster from deck
3. banish tempest and burner to special summon blaster from grave
4. tempest activates, add lightning to hand
5. xyz summon blaster + blaster into chasmatis
6. activate chasmatis, detach blaster and send tidal => tidals copy effect sends redox from deck to grave
7. special redox by banishng spector and tidal
8. tidal activates and adds stream to hand
9. activate stream by discarding lightning to special summon tidal
10. redox + tidal into eclipses
11. activate eclipses to special summon spector from the deck
12. chasmatis + eclipses into disaster
13. activate disaster and attach redox, tidal, blaster and tempest
14. hope the opponent doesnt have daruma karma cannon.

whatever even if they out it you already have all you need to just summon disaster again on the next turn.

So it does! Man that's weird, also disappointing. Game's trained me into skimming over material requirements, normally such a thing is an extra summoning condition listed after the materials.

Usually, yes. Utopic Zexal and Utopic Future already paved the way for this, though.
