Something weird happened with Labrynths....
Okay, you won't believe this, but the wrong effect of Labrynth Labyrinth happened.

Let me explain:

When you activate Welcome Labrynth, it would let you destroy one card on the field, see? Or if you activate a Non Labrynth Normal Trap Card, you can special summon 1 monster.

However, the weirdest thing that happened was this.

When I used Farewelcome Labrynth, I used it on my own turn to negate my Lovely Labrynth's own attack to then destroy Dark Magician. (Just having casual fun lol) However, the weird thing what happened was this:

After using Farwelcome Labrynth, the Field Spell activated. I was like: What? Maybe it was the Special Summon Graveyard effect?

But no, it was the target destruction effect!

Why did that happen? I didn't even use Welcome Labrynth this turn! I only used it last turn and set Welcome Labrynth with the effect of Lovely Labrynth.

If someone would try to replicate this, I would be thankful.

(I don't have the replay tho, I really need to make space)

(What game state I did have was a set of 5 traps in my back row, a Lovely Labrynth, a Normal Summoned Goblin King (I played it because I misread its effect because I thought its atk gain was based on the level of the other fiends, not the monsters.) And I had a Dugares the Timeless that used its Draw Effect.

You should post a replay its far better than describing it since if your missing something you will likely miss it in your description but farewelcome labrynth is a welcome labrynth normal trap so it triggers the field spell

Hi there. Both "Welcome Labrynth" and "Farewelcome Labrynth" doesn't have the effect of "destroy 1 card on the field" on themselves. This effect is actually coming from the Labrynth Labyrinth on your board, which grants the effect of "destroy 1 card on the field" as additional effect to any normal trap card that has the texts of "welcome labrynth" in the title. Also, "Farewelcom Labrynth" also allows you to destroy the monster that you have targeted to negate the attack.

For your references, here are the card text from YuGiOh database:

Labrynth Labyrinth grants "destroy 1 card on the field" to all that has "Welcome Labrynth" in the name. Right now there is 3 cards (MD has 2).
Welcome Labrynth
Farewelcome Labrynth
Big Welcome Labrynth

Edit: Welcome effects:
Welcome Labrynth: Special summon 1 Labrynth monster from deck. And then you can destroy 1 card on the field.

Farewelcome Labrynth: Negate 1 attack, and destroy 1 card on the field. And then
you can destroy 1 destroy on the field. So its can destroy 2 cards.

Big Welcome Labrynth; Special summon 1 Labrynth monster from Hand, GY, or deck, and then return 1 monster your control to hand. And then you can destroy 1 card on the field.

Yes, I know. But the thing is, I thought the effect of Labrynth Labyrinth only worked with Welcome Labrynth, I didn't know if it could also work on Farwelcome Labrynth.

That would be worded "if you activate "Welcome Labrynth"" when what the card actually says is "a "Welcome Labrynth" Normal Trap". A similar distinction is The Eye of Timaeus asking for "a "Dark Magician" monster" and thus allowing Dark Magician Girl's fusions (but can't be searched by most of the archetypal support because it doesn't technically mention Dark Magician in its card text).
