Going Back to Rank After How Good Dice Rally Was Is Demoralizing
It just shows how outdated and unfun rank is and how fun Master Duel can be with these events going on all the time. Why even end them if there isn't another event to take it's place right after it?

There is? There is usually only a gap week. It's just I think the next one is a cup event. The events are pretty often

It just sucks having to play rank at all during the downtime between events. Would not be as bad if there were other avenues to play while events aren't going on, like time wizard formats being permanent instead of just once a year.

As for the Cup event, it is by far the worst event in the game. I'd say it's worse than rank since all the sweats come out in force.

I can't really argue with that since I agree, but what can you do? A week of down time isn't so bad considering people need time to rank up since a good chunk of gems come from it. But the fact like 1/2 or 1/3 of the events are cups is pretty gross since its literally ranked but on steroids.

edit: Ah, I remember now, I wound up picking a fight with you on the DD2 forums. Sorry again about that confusion. Your avatar is actually kind of popular @_@

Hopefully with how well received this event was, whoever is in charge of this game might start taking risks and doing new things instead of just doing the same thing ad infinitum.
I have more fun with ranked because I can play punk the way god intended me to I did like the random card spaces the extra draw and half LP spaces wern't very interesting and the actual ban list just being all synchros banned was boring hopefully if we see more dice rallies we get something more interesting.

That said its duelist cup next month
Yugioh players when they have to play standard Yugioh:

Good for you bro, glad you can enjoy the same game mode for years on end. Me personally, I have more fun when I'm trying new things. The deck I developed in the Dice Rally to make use of all the cards I start the game with is an experience I'll be missing going back into rank.

I am also having a less fun time in regular Ranked.
The dice event was great because it toned down solitaire decks that flooded their boards with control effects to deny their opponent from playing.

Variety is the spice of life.

It has nothing to do with "the same game mode" I am playing a deck I genuinely love and enjoy so long as I get to do that I could care less its a card game ranked is the card game I signed up to play.

Maybe you didn't catch that I did like the event for the very obvious flaw in the fact it was just an another extra deck type slop event I want them to do something more fun more interesting you probably do too we all should.
While I get the sentiment, I feel like there are only so many times that people can talk about how much they enjoy yugioh only when they aren't actually playing yugioh, until it raises the question of why they are here playing yugioh in the first place. This event was one of the exceptions because of how it actually changed game mechanics and added to the starting board, but for most of the events that aren't normal yugioh you CAN just replicate it with friends at any time in duel rooms, you don't have to wait for anything

The dice event was great because the ban list only barely affected my solitaire deck. (I had one Synchro in there to replace.)

It's not the same as dueling randoms and trying to go up against their strategies versus a friend who you already know what they're going to do or play. Besides sometimes I just want to take an afternoon to duel away, and that's just simply not possible with my friends who are interested in yugioh. They either live in different time zones or have a night job. It's just not a feasible replacement.

Idk what you were hoping for them to do, but this is literally the most "interesting" they been in years. Like Papa Shekels said, every other event has been some variation of format change.

It's unfortunate you didn't get to play your Punks, from what I've seen they seemed like an interesting deck to pilot. I too wanted to try some synchro strategies with Hop Ear Squadron and the monster you get given, but I still managed to find other neat strategies moving out of my comfort zone.

I just remembered the Try-Out event where they featured Skill Drain. That event was fun af. You could run Magic Planter as a Pot of Greed. Lots of interesting decks during that event.

I was hoping for an interesting backbone the dice gimmick was fun tho I got extremely tired of rolling the draw and half life point ones after hitting them once or twice getting a card was always the most interesting.

What I expect either a simple ban list picking holes in the most popular strategies in ranked or for it to be more interesting than synchros are banned I assure you if this did not have the dice gimmick I would be trashing this event for all its worth I have been incredibly consistent that banlists that just blanket ban extra deck types are bad even if I have a deck I enjoy for it.

Did you try out a deck with dice related stuff? Because for me I made a strategy around Royal Rhino. And trying him out, I got to do a lot of wacky stuff. Like for example his chain link 4 effect landed on 6 and I was able to pop my opponent's entire board, it was crazy. Another time I was able to dodge imperm with it, though most of the time I can cheese out wins during the 1/2 Life Points with his third effect.
