F2P question?
How F2P friendly is this game comparing to something like MTGA or Hearthstone?

Compared to MTGA, this game might as well be a free simulator. That game is honestly one of the worst, if not THE worst, card game clients on the market right now in terms of fomo and practices to get you to spend money instead of just playing to get cards. Hearthstone is a little better, but that game has practices like making you actually buy a battlepass with real money to reasonably progress it because of the EXP boost having the premium version gives you. Currently this is the best F2P card game client I've played and I've played those 2 as well as things like PTCG, pokemon pocket and 40k warpforge just off the top of my head.

This game makes you feel like MTG arena Is abusive and was designed to hurt you by comparaison.. You get the equivalent of 1.5 pack a day doing easy dailies and events..

For the events.. In the november one they gave you 33 pack equivalent and same for december.. It was crazy!

On top of it.. It's not a wildcard system.. Any 3 card of a rarity you don,t want, you can burn to make any card of that rarity.. This is so much easier to build decks.

In 2 months of playing, I made a livetwin deck, altergeist, Master peace, Unchained and Suships fully free to play..

In mtg arena i'd have bene lucky in that timespan to finish 2 decks

What decks do you recommend for someone coming from MTGA?
There is currently a new player campaign going on that will allow you to get a free swordsoul deck which is a very simple deck for new players to use and its honestly not that bad either. Find somebody to use their code and it'll instantly give you a playable one that, while not the optimal version of the deck, is still a very good starting point and completely for free.

Think of it like a midrange deck in MTG, its very similar in how it plans to win games.

Very F2P friendly. Between The Cup events, dailies, and battlepass you can make at least 2 Metagame decks by the 2/3 month mark, if you pick a decent starter deck you can earn a bit more gems by climbing ranks. It definitely is less oppresive compared to MTG arena but not as giving/accessible compared to PKMN TCG Live.

This and Shadowverse are very friendly compared to other F2P deckbuilding games.
