YGO is one of only a handful of games I can think of that need that level of searching, and even then you have divisions within divisions on where the line is drawn.
Then you have clowns like me who prefer something more in the vein of LOTD where I can just goof around against the A.I. who basically don't fit into any of the groups (best I can get is casual PvE content in Duel Links).
YGO is a massively fractured playerbase, mostly due to years of Konami doing Konami things, Master Duel could have been something to bring players together but with the lackadaisical F/L lists they've had you have neither OCG or TCG players particularly satisfied with things that either and/or both lists have Forbidden at some point running around freely.
I play with old cards and with old tactics and frankly I have more fun doing that.
These insane combos are just absurd.
The situation you found yourself in is a combination of 50% coin toss and 41% of drawing at least one limit summon, in total it's a 20,5% chance. A little reminder: luck isn't skill
I had/have a hard time adjusting to it.
Waiting 10 minutes for someone to end their turn after summoning 6000 monsters and having redrawn an entire full 5 card hand at the end of it all.
Back when i was playing actively was 12/10 years ago during Yugioh Online 3 Duel Accelerator.
Synchro's were the " kinda new" thing and for most decks the boss monsters.
XYZ,pendulum and Link monsters didnt exist back then.
Players could summon a few extra monsters via effects but not at the crazy pace it goes with in the current state.
Not every "boss" type monster had a omni negate or "cant be affected by anything" defense effect or w/e.
The way the game is now you NEED to have cards like Ash Blossom, D.D Crow or just any card that can stop your opponent because if you cant you're just staring at your screen for 10 minutes to wait for them to end 1 turn and then hope when it's your turn they cant instantly deny you from actually playing the game and finish you off in the next turn.
If you have Imperm you can use that trap card from the hand to negate a skill drain or imperial order then keep playing the rest of you turn as normal, evenly match also is another one, there is several options for that case
Exactly.
"Just pull this card bro!"
Yeah ok, so what do I just stack my deck with that card so my chances are better than none or do I just hope that I get lucky as ♥♥♥♥? Sounds fun!
Before you know it we'll have deck traps.
Ah, I really miss yugioh online 2-3 duel accelerator. still my favorite online card game, pity it closed.
Yeah same here man.
Not a single game has come close to how much fun that game was.
Still miffed that they shut down the servers.
