Dark Magicians is ROUGH...
Ill probably test out different cards and stuff cause the one im playing may just not be very consistent (i brick a LOT.) but in general the deck seems kinda mid which sucks

I mean its definitely a mid tier deck. So I don't know what you expected. By Mid tier I don't mean the Meta either, I mean all of Yugioh. Overall its a decent fun deck but I don't know it it has ever been Meta. If you are bricking a lot its probably just a build issue though. At its best it pretty reliably does what it does. Which is usually eternal soul+a fusion and some backrow.

Kinda this. The whole gimmick is taken straight from Yugi, with real life adjustments. It's not perfect, but the whole theme of the deck is to basically draw any card you want, when you want it, so long as its loyal to the theme. If you're bricking, there is a definite ratio issue. Since everything is made to be searched, you probably don't need things as much as you have them. (although on that note, I've never stood by people who use less than 3 DMs, because frankly, I use all 3 of them for lots of things really fast, and I recycle slower than I can use them up)

It was meant to point out the hypocrisy of him crapping on DM while his favourite is 5DS.

And really? Genex? Name me one card without looking it up. And for AOJ, name me 2 without looking it up (we all know the first one).:steammocking:

You can build the deck as a pretty competent rank 7 spam deck, and you know what that means...Galaxy Tomahawk Auroradon combos. It's pretty decent and fairly consistent.

Most people don't try it though because they forget that this isn't the tcg and Galaxy Tomahawk is legal.

Don't forget the greatest Genex of all, Genex Ally Birdman. He was on the banlist...several times! For uh, reasons...

Fair enough, I concede.

But Genex and AOJ still suck. HAHA made you read this!

Also Genex Undine, which was slightly terrifying back when Halq was legal.

You can get a lot of staples from the in game structure, but generally, I found DM works better as a package, and not as the entire deck. Use it alongside other archetypes that love fusion summoning, especially spellcasters. I run a DM, Invoked, Witchcrafter 40 card deck and I do pretty well with it. A lot of the cards help each other. Witchcrafter Patronus can be used to recover Aleister the Invoker or any of your DM monsters from the banished pile, for example. DM the dragon knight also protects your Witchcrafter backrow cards. Magicians' Souls can be used to place Witchcrafter monsters into your GY. Aleister can be used to give any fusion monster 1,000 more attack in a pinch. As already mentioned, super poly is a great addition to a DM deck, as well as staple targets like Muddragon, Garura, and Starving Venom Fusion dragon.

In most decks, you want to stay away from anything that is too specific in how it works, or else it will often be a dead card in your hand. DM has a lot of cards like this. IMO Souls, Illusion of Chaos, Salvation(unless you'd rather run Secret Village of the Spellcasters or something else), Eternal Soul, Dark Magical Circle, and of course DM itself are the cards you should focus on. All the other main deck DM cards are ok at best. They can work well, but also tend to brick up your hand often.

Guardian Chimera's a good Fusion Monster to add as well, seeing as Secrets of Dark Magic is, afaik, the only non-Branded by Red quick-play spell that can summon him.

Another route to go with, Rank 7 monsters. Diablosis and Big Eye being a couple notable ones.

And if you wanna get a little tricky, pack a Virus card that can be used by tributing DM (Grinning Grave Virus is my preference, due to its "The effects of monsters destroyed by this cards effects cannot be activated that turn" effect) and respond to the activation with Eternal Soul's resurrection effect. (I call the move "Houdini Tribute")
