Armed Dragon Blitz + Armed Dragon Thunder Level 10?
Okay, playing a quick game of Master Duel in Legend Anthology. However, here's something. I added Armed Dragon Blitz to my hand at one point in the duel and here's the thing. I wanted to use it with Armed Dragon Thunder Level 10 to bring out the original Armed Dragon LV 10 but...it doesn't work?

Why not? I don't get why. There's no reason as to why that shouldn't work. I've got copies of Armed Dragon LV10 and another Thunder LV 10 on deck!

"Target 1 "Armed Dragon" monster you control; take 1 monster with the same name from your Deck or GY, and either add it to your hand or Special Summon it, ignoring its Summoning conditions, but it cannot attack directly. You can only activate 1 "Armed Dragon Blitz" per turn. You cannot Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this card, except Dragon monsters."

That's the effect. And no, I didn't special summon any non Warrior monsters. In fact, at the beginning of my next turn, when I had not special summoned anything, I still couldn't activate it.

Is Armed Dragon Thunder Level 10 untargettable by card effects of something? Because nothing says that about the card.

Were you trying to summon OG Armed Dragon Lv 10 from your deck, or from your GY?

Cause if the latter, then if it was sent to the GY without having been properly summoned then, per game rules, not even a "Ignoring its summoning conditions" effect can revive it.

No, I was trying to summon it from the Deck. Armed Dragon Blitz's effect says that it also works in the deck.

In that case, post a replay otherwise we can't help you with the information you've given thus far.

Most likely, Armed Dragon Thunder Lv10 was not summoned by an Armed Dragon MONSTER effect, which means its name would not change to Armed Dragon Lv 10, making the only valid target for Blitz another Armed Dragon Thunder Lv10. If you summoned it via a spell or trap effect, such as Monster Reborn, or even a non-Armed Dragon monster effect that would do it.

Hope this helps.

Let me help You since I played a lot with Armed Dragons.

Armed Dragon Blitz wont work unfortunately because both Armed Dragon LV7 and LV10 cannot be normal summoned or set, and can only be special summoned via Armed Dragon effects. This also means they can't be special summoned with cards like Monster Reborn etc.

For example Armed Dragon LV7 can be special summoned via Armed Dragon Thunder LV5 effect and Armed Dragon LV10 by tributing Armed Dragon Thunder LV7 (because its name is changed to Armed Dragon LV7).

Basically Armed Dragon Blitz isnt such a good card as it sounds and should be... but it can let You summon Armed Dragon LV3 or LV5.

What? Armed Dragon Blitz says that it can Special Summon Armed Dragons, ignoring its Summoning Conditions. Meaning the summoning conditions of summoning them originally don't matter. Additionally, Armed Dragon Blitz doesn't say anything about the monster having to be normal summoned or set intrinisically so that doesn't make sense either.

Actually, I figured it out. The structure deck doesn't have an original Armed Dragon LV 10. I just assumed it did.

Glad you figured it out, but I was referring to Armed Dragon Thunder Lv10's effect which changes its name to Armed Dragon Lv10. If that effect isn't in play, Blitz would have to summon a Thunder Lv10, since it summons a monster with the same name. Though the real reason you couldn't summon the base Lv10 is honestly much funnier.
