What new cards/support are you waiting for?

Red Eyes/Joey support. If Blue Eyes and Dark Magician can get waves on waves of support and be competitive so can Red Eyes. I've created my own support to solve this problem. I've reached out to Konami several times. Red Eyes and Joey support should be able to play nicely together and off of each other while remaining their own archetypes and able to be competitive if players choose to play that way. I hope you like the support. It's been kind of a community project. I've had help from other players and AI with wording things and bouncing ideas around.

Then just make it Red Eyes support. We shouldn't use such logic to deny things people want. Red Eyes needs support regardless. The fact it is an anime relevant deck just makes it more popular, as does the age of Red Eyes Black Dragon. The card holds special meaning to anyone who started the game with the earliest cards. Buy someone a Red Eyes starter deck and they will probably think its cool, if only for style.

Beloved decks that need support should get it. Even if that means just flooding the game with anime support every so often.

We do, because Red Eyes doesn't function properly. Its a bad deck and it need good support. Bad cards are effectively useless and may as well not exist until they are good enough to actually use.

Archetypes either work or they don't. Ones that don't need support. As for which archetype you support, that is up to preference. Though you can factor in difficulty too. Some archetypes are just beyond help and need to be rebuilt. Usually older ones whose idea of an archetype game plan was being slightly stronger against light monsters or something.

Looking at it as an either/or situation is only useful if you are making that decision. Otherwise its just pushing your own preferences above others in hopes to sway them away from what they prefer. In hopes you convince the ones making the game. There are very few actually correct answers here. Red Eyes being as correct as any given its status and lack of function as a deck.

Regardless you need these decks to sell. Red Eyes would sell if it was made playable. Because people like it. Even beyond it just being an anime card. People love cool dragons after all. Konami cashed in on that general love a bit too much in fact. It has everything you need in recognition and general appeal. The only ones it doesn't cater to are the waifu players and people who directly avoid the OG or anime cards.

ANYWAY feel free to talk about other archetypes but don't make it out that any of them are more deserving when the difference between unplayable and playable is all that really matters. Red Eyes could have 2000 cards and still need support if its unplayable.

How about Umbral Horror, Cloudian, Venom, etc. Red-Eyes can be as bad as you think it is but 1 thing it has is it's playable. Out of all these decks Ojama is the only 1 that counts as playable if you just make it a combo spammer that only focuses on making negates off of XYZ and generic Links. Red-Eyes has been doing nothing but getting support and it's still in the same terrible state it's in, meanwhile we only just now got Yubel and Arcana Force support after over a decade of neglect. Even Battlin Boxer an archetype that had actual meta presence in it's time took nearly a decade to receive any form of legacy support, meanwhile Red-Eyes will just get the same wave of mediocre to bad support wasting more time and effort that could've gone to archetypes that actually could use attention, some remembrance

See your problem is you are assuming its pointless. People asking for Red Eyes support are asking for the deck to be made good. Not for more garbage. No one wants garbage support.

I do actually see people playing Vehicroid and Cyber angels funnily enough. I agree, they are not good. However again I ask what Red Eyes is doing that makes it better? Because if you are making a real Red Eyes deck the best thing it does is summon Dragoon. Without Dragoon its absolutely on the level of those other decks. As I said, Dragoon is more of a DM card anyway. Works way better in DM for good reason.

For real stuff, I guess just ashened right now. At least for "new" stuff, and not support for existing archetypes.

For my dream stuff...Fire Princess support. More Witchcrafter stuff. Maybe some yugiboomer archetype based around boss monsters like Guadian Angel Joan, Moisture Creature and Gilford the Lightning.

Fiendsmith, even though we all know that they will be splashed into almost every deck and Blue-eyes for the nostalgia and with the new support it's actually quite playable and not bricky.
