Account linking is terrible.
Saying "data transfer" is super misleading and causes people not to use it.
Not realizing that they can't link their account after starting.

I submitted a ticket to delete my Steam Yu-Gi-Oh account so I can attempt to re-link it.
Lets see how this goes down.

I'll update when I get more information.

I summarized my original post for you. If you ask them to delete your steam yugioh account then you won't be able to play master duel on the account you're using right now to make this thread ever again.

Through Konami Support? How is Konami able to delete my Steam account?

They're not. But they also can't link you to a new account. They've said this already. If they delete your account, you will not be able to start a new one on this account. There is no reset button. If they delete your account, you just won't be able to access the game anymore because your credentials will be invalid.

Wow... Konami is terrible...
Good thing I didn't put any money in this game.

I thought you could link your md account to multiple Konami accounts

So... you can link your game from within the setting menu, the Konami site tells you that it will change your ID... but this doesn't seem to do anything...

It's not misleading if you'd read what they ask you in the beginning of the game. They ask if you've got an account already, meaning you need an empty account to transfer data.

Sorry I mean like the account ID that you see in the game that is your account and they'll delete it upon your request however, lets say this account you're utilizing on this community hub is the account you used that then produced that unique ID then you won't be able to play it on your main steam account. I just made alt steam accounts but I was able to recover from my FK up on my main account but now I got 12 different decks and honestly idc which account I use atm I don't care about leveling etc. I just wanted to play the game since I can't play in person because I am busy af

Update:
So, you can link your account once in game by clicking on the "Transfer Data" option, which, again, is a stupid name cause it's not Transferring anything but Linking.
When you attempt to "Transfer Data" you will be told that there is an already existing link on your account and you will be asked to overwrite it.
When you click yes, your account will be the new primary.
This does NOTHING to link it to your other platforms (if you understand English and made the mistake of NOT TRANSFERRING your account).
Important takeaway though is this:
The system recognizes you linking an account.
Konami ID will identify that you are using a different profile but will not use it.
Contacting Konami will not get you anywhere as this will not be "fixed".
This is not a matter of CAN it, but rather, WILL support help.

It's just another natural progression of Konami's care towards Customers slowly going downhill.
IF you disagree, ask yourself if this is done to protect anyone or is it done to maximize profits?

I have a question about Data Transfer.

Lets say i have a PC account 1 with master duel.

Then i "Data Transfer" for PC account 2.

After that i use my PC account 2 to ask konami to delete my account.

Which account ill "lose"(Since i cant play Master Duel on it anymore)?

PC account 1 or PC account 2 or both?

TY
Thanks to playing duel links I was lucky enough to read up on the data transfer system since Konami was notoriously terrible with how they handled it before. Basically as far as I understand it the data transfer system in Master Duel is for cross-progression between platforms.

Once you sign into the game on PC and link it with your Konami-ID that Master Duel profile is now the profile that will be transferred to other platforms but not to other PCs. Once you download and log-in into Master Duel on another platform before doing anything prior, you can transfer your profile to it as long as you use the sub-menu at the start game screen right after you first download it.

sooo like... do I need to make a konami id if I want to transfer between pcs? or does it automatically transfer it without needing to use a konami account since I'll always use the same steam account?

If you have one steam account it should always use the Konami-ID originally tied to it. To be honest though I only play with a single ID through both Yu-Gi-Oh games so I'm not 100% sure. :(
