The thing that saved the event for me was being able to play SE instead of having to go Numeron as I assumed. I just really like the "put their stuff into spell zone" gimmick of the deck and could enjoy it without feeling like some meta bully, since I played without using stuff from ED.
Things I didn't enjoy, aside of watching people combo for hours? The damn Exo sisters. Probably just like Kashtira, very drawluck related but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, every hand I had vs them was crap while they had perfect ones.
Weirdest game was SE mirror when I messed up and took their Flamberge instead of mine but the dude somehow overlooked it and didn't crash their own monster into it to bring back their little ones back.
It also allowed branded to take a back seat over lab as the deck that I want to see get gutted into unplayability, I am beyond sick of seeing it in every event for the past year, ignoring the theme of the actual event and stalling games to a crawl. Easily one of the worst designs in yugioh history, and playing against it over and over and over just hits the point home
I stand by that this was an event released far too soon that no one wanted or even asked for. Still waiting for a reappearance of the N/R Festival KONAMI.
I just wish there weren't so many people playing stun and Lab. Decks that aren't planning to use XYZ cards aren't any fun and above 15-17 you can't surrender as readily if you want to grab the gems. They aren't even strong choices. People are just too lazy to play themed decks or they have somehow avoided purchasing ANY XYZ cards despite having obscure lab variants.
You can make some fun XYZ decks with N/R materials. So its not like its a resource issue below the top ranks.
