What If Pot Of Greed Becomes Unlimited?

If we want Maxx C to be banned then Pot Of Greed should be removed from the forbidden list. It should be fair. What do you guys think?

This would be a terrible idea. It would effective give a random chance to just increase the starting hand by one. It would make the Going First position even more broken.

I've held that Maxx C is a better Pot of Greed. It fills exactly the same role as being a generic source of card advantage that more or less any deck is capable of using, and most decks in fact do use it. Therefore if Maxx C is unlimited, there's no reason Pot of Greed should remain forbidden or even limited.

HOWEVER the reverse holds true as well. If Maxx C is ban-worthy, then Pot of Greed should remain banned as well because the majority of arguments made against the Roach's freedom apply equally to Pot of Greed. It is not a one-or-the-other kind of question, either both cards are ok or neither of them are.

I don't know where in your reasoning you'd think because we want one broken card banned that must mean another broken card being unbanned would be fair, but i think its wrong and makes no sense.

Its too broken and it would be in every single deck played. Honestly they should unban it out of nowhere for like a month and watch all hell break loose lol.

Pot of Greed is vastly weaker, most notably not getting you handtraps quickly enough to matter. However, it's still such an obviously broken card in a game with no resource system that it should never be released. Even in the anime it was a lazy way to get out of impossible situations.

I don't disagree with maxx c getting a change but pot of greed would literally obliterate the master duel meta. It would first overshadow every other pot cards and become a staple in every deck with one of if not the strongest effect in yugioh.

I would be fine if this was a trade to be honest. However neither card should be legal. Pot would just be the lesser of two evils since it doesn't get in the way of playing the game. It just boosts everyone a crazy amount.

However it sounds like you are saying to just make it legal and hope Maxx C gets banned in return. In which case lol nah. Silly thread.

Again, what it actually does is further benefit the player who goes first because it can't draw into handtraps fast enough to matter. That's... not good.
