Name the one card you want banned and unbanned the most in MD

Let's see just how far these opinions shift. You can give two names or you can also give explanations for each, but you can only commit to one card for each category. And let's try not to make it too much about insulting people whose choices you disagree with.

Oh, and we can exclude maxx "C" here. It will get kind of boring to see the same pick for 2/3 of the responses. Try to pick your second runner-up to ban if that is the case.

I'll start:
Ban albion, the sanctifire dragon - in all my time playing in paper and MD, I have seen exactly one instance where this card was NOT used for some degenerate lock. Branded players already have more than enough toys to play with, this one can go and they'd have to go back to playing a real win condition. The cherry on top is that they decided to give this thing targeting protection, so you can't even interact with it using half of the most common staples.
Unban cyber jar - I am not sure why this card is even still on the ban list. TCG limited it a while ago and it has seen exactly 0 play. Any strategy that needs to dig for specific monsters already has better methods than setting a flip monster that destroys itself, and there's a good chance it benefits the opponent more than you based on the hits. This would be a cool card to have for gimmick decks or time wizard events, and surely we aren't afraid of empty jar in 2024?

Ban super polymerization. It's one thing in order to have a spell that can suck up two of my monsters but to not be able to respond to it so I just have to suffer is just frustrating. To some it may seem like a necessary evil to extend combos but when it's mainly used as a form of interruption on top of everything- no I will not hear you out.

And iunno unban Toadally Awesome for no other reason then that's my homie and I miss him.

Seems like Konami disagrees with you because last year it got restored to 3, before that super polymerization was limited to 2 i think.

Ban Numeron Network. It's a stupidly easy otk that does nothing at higher ranks but forces jank decks and genuinely newer players to suffer.

Unban Mistic...Dragoon. Unban Dragoon. It's legal in the TCG iirc and it's never been legal in MD(also iirc). Similar to DPE it's a nice tech that already feels powercrept by more modern stuff. I think it could get some cheap wins, but similar to DPE, I think after a month or two people would stop throwing it into every deck due to potential bricks and would then only see occasional play outside DM/Red Eyes.

Reminder that Dragoon is banned because it's too good a board under Maxx "C". The fact that they clearly banned the wrong card changes nothing unless and until the Mulchummy speculation pans out.

Likewise, Time Seal is banned under a similar clause to the Cannon Soldier family: it's weak as hell, but the only conceivable use it could ever have is a level of degeneracy not seen since they ruled that accepting a handshake doesn't have to require actually touching your opponent.

I've not played enough against meta decks lately to have a strong opinion of what should get banned, but I have to agree with Sanctifire Dragon. Being able to slap any monster onto your opponent's field is an effect that's asking to be abused, not a balancing "cost" for the effect. It's also a wholly unnecessary play on Branded's part, there's ample removal and negation options for the deck to use without resorting to a random Nightmare Puppet or Iblee to totally lock out your opponent.

Unbanned is even harder to pick just card for, there's a whole slew that have been banned basically forever that people are irrationally paranoid about seeing the light of day again. Like they were about Yata, who's done squat since unbanning. Purely selfishly, I'd like to get Dark Matter Dragon back. As a hot take, I honestly don't think Pot of Greed is any stronger than the kinds of advantage Labyrinth or Snake eye can generate on their own, so it helps rogue out more than meta.

There should be no 1 of cards that are linchpins to a engine. So things like Runick Fountain should be set to a 2 of or 3. Heck get rid of 1 of as a category. The meta is littered with cards that hit the deck and easy face down banish.

So long as the case is that you can do that then there's really no reason to do 1 of anymore since a face down banish is the equivalent of Forbidden anyway to a 1 of card reliant deck.

Ban: Summon Limit or any easy floodgate style thing really. I would ban them all if I could. Flipping a card shouldn't immediately shut anyone down on its own, but they too often do. Summon limit was just the one that came to mind first.

Unban: Chaos Ruler. I play Chaos so obviously I want my Chaos Ruler back. Nothing else I could unban would be less generic or scary. Its all on the list for a reason or it should be on there at all.
