The New Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel Event Is Useless

Just logged on to Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel on my PC and i saw this new event...don't tell me i have to go to Japan then go to Tokyo and go to the Tokyo Dome to get a friendship chain item....and tbh...it sucks because i have read the "how to participate" and it states that you need a friendship chain in order for you to duel another player. Also, you have to go to Japan and go to Tokyo in person IRL.

Btw this event is also on YGO Duel Links and it is meant to celebrate 25 years of YGO. I would like to know everyone's opinions regarding the event.

Go read the other threads talking about it, we've already established it's not as bad as it sounds. Just look at how many chains there are already. At this rate, it would be hard NOT to run into someone that has been chained at least once.

You can think of it like a virus. It's only going to spread. That said, it is a weird event.

I mean, can you even call it an event? It's a daily mission but needlessly complicated for no reason at all.

Also, it's an awful lot of work in terms of UI, animations, and backend simply to distribute a terrible card and accessories featuring it.

Interesting, I guess, but like, just... why? Why all of this? What a bizarre decision and an even more bizarre use of development resources.

The way you phrased it makes it sound like the start of a season of the anime. We all get infected by some crazy interdenominational magic virus and dragged into some duel world by our souls.

No they get passed around as long as you do not scoop if the person your playing has one you will get it

think of it as someone who has a chain infects you so you get a chain, then if you duel someone who doesnt have a chain you infect them, then the process keeps going until mostly everyone is infected.

Just que up and play normally in ranked. You are bound to get your chains at some point.
I only played 4 games today and already got both chains so its not that hard.

Despite having already managed to get to the yellow chain quickly, the purple one seems to not exist. From what I understand, only if I duel against someone who has the purple one will I win a purple one. Overall I thought this event design was horrible and reward much worse.

A 25th anniversary celebration with crumbs and an extremely bad event. Konami doesn't have a respect for their fans or their own work. It's a complete disregard for everything. It amazes me that they still make some profit with their products.

there isn't a purple one 3 of them are out we are probably going to see something else drop on the 7th when they change the selection pack the last chain is out in like 3 and a half hours

The issue isn't how to participate. The real reason it sucks is because it's not an interactive event, nor are the rewards cool. The royal is worthless and all the accessories aren't that cool.

I agree with you, the rewards are worthless and tbh if i were to participate in a YGO Master Duel in game event...i would rather fight for gems and cash prizes and fragments such as R. SR and UR. What about you?

R are worthless. SR are meh. I like the shiny new card. Also its an event that happens without you needing to do anything more than play the game.

I think they see an event and think "This could have been X" instead of realizing that this has nothing to do with the alt format events that give lots of gems or the mini events which are all different things. They just think they should be given gems every time because that would be "better" instead of realizing this event does come with gems, as login rewards.
