Bye Bye Ash Blossom
Asides from stopping Maxx "C" the card is useless nowadays, and even at that, it is not consistent considering everyone also pack Called by the Grave. Most players know better than to just rely on one strategy that can be stopped by Ash, so they either fish it or simply do not care like I do and go for the backup plan. Most deck can always play around it, so it ends up nothing but a waste of space, so goodbye, Ash Blossom

just means veiler comes back. Hand traps tend to be on a rotation based on the meta. If things get really trap heavy with stun like they have been, we'll probably see a jump in the Psyframes usage.

I mean, the fact that someone use one single maxx C while also having crossout pretty much telling you why it was there.
People bring ash literally just to stop maxx C most of time lul

Its either that or give 20+ cards to your opponent for free. Ban Max C and Ash/Called By and Crossout will see less play. But somehow OGC still love it and so do MD.

Just had a opponent brick turn 1 then Max C me and I Ashed him right away. He instant scooped.

Lockbird works better because it stops adding cards to the hand for the whole turn, and not just negate one card activation. so if someone's strategy involves adding more than one card to the hand, playing around it will not work like Ash. It also works against Maxx "C", so you have that.

Just pray that YOU don't have to search anything for your own deck, because if you do, Droll screws you just as much, because unlike Ash, Droll trades -1 with the damned bug, and....stops you from adding as well, so it can become quite the issue if you do have to do any searching.

Does max c have restrictions? I just had a combat with a chinese player where I could not play max c in the main phase.

If you cannot send cards to the graveyard, it will not activate.

Also, it is a duel, not a combat.

You don't know that. Maybe the duel involved combat? Happened in the anime, at least once.

Shifter, Droll, Maxx C are the three meta handtraps. 1 Negate the meta decks dont care about with 4+ full starters -_-

This isn't the first or second, or third time someone has posted here, or on Reddit, or on Discord thinking Ash is no longer playable/good; and spoilers, it won't be the last.

Ash ain't going anywhere anytime soon. It's effect to single-handedly stop table 500 Wombo is just too good man. Until these 15 minute solitaire decks are just no longer viable period, then she isn't going anywhere. Hand-traps in all 3 formats r seeing record high usage, and at the least Ash will be in the side-deck, for many years to come.

Yes Droll and Lock is the current king in TCG, but In Master Duel according to the Meta website Usage rate, Ash Blossom is 30% more over Called and Imperm. She is second only to Maxx C. And only by about 1%.

I don't follow OCG very closely, but since Maxx C is also there I can't imagine she isn't seeing play since she is one of his biggest counters.

Hand traps & other staples have always been meta-dependent. Compared to Droll it has less power but more utility (SS/Foolish negate + tuner). It'll wax & wane.

Ash goes in and out of meta, in formats without maxx c. the roach by itself means ash will always be a 3 of in any deck that special summons.
