Is it possible to restrict Synchro/XYZ/Link?

Good evening fellas, I just installed the game to play good ol' CLASSIC Yu-Gi-Oh games and I was wondering if there is any game mode that prevents me from facing opponents who play Synchro/XYZ/Link. Is it possible? or I am just losing my time and this is the kingdom of people who want to absurdly summon 5 monsters in one turn and OTK you?! : ( Thanks!

Play any of the other fanmade simulators or play the retro games. Unless you wait around for an event that limits the summoning mechanics which is always random in what it is, this isn't the game for you then.
This is, for all intents and purposes a simulator for the current master rule format so unless you find communities with other players to adhere to certain rules, you will not be finding individuals like that in the ladder.

The only restriction in this game is your imagination.. that and the ban list.

You can make a duel room that goes by the "fusion" regulation (which is just the ban list used for a past fusion event). But that leaves decks like tearlaments and branded legal at basically full power, so it's still not what you are imagining. Either way, the only way you'll play the game from 20 years ago is to find other people who want to do that and play with them specifically

Yep, people don't seem to realize that Link decks are more powerful than Goat decks because it's been 20 years and not because of Links specifically.

Yep, people don't seem to realize that Link decks are more powerful than Goat decks because it's been 20 years and not because of Links specifically.

Idk man, metamorphosis could probably create all kinds of shenanigans with the newer cards

edit: Just to clarify, it not only breaks the game now, but it broke the game just as bad back then. It's just one of those super cards

honestly this is so tiresome whats stopping you from going and playing an old game or a fan made sim if you want actual people to play against its not like the old game not having all the new cards is an issue since you wont need them.

I mean...it's never left the banlist since it was put on there so...I guess it will never see competitive play (actually I think they brought it back limited once, decided it was a mistake and re-banned it immediately after like 1 YCS)

Ideal game for Uber competitive tourney players but useless for anyone who just wants a fun chilled experience

And it was quite frankly advertised as such. The fact that the only mode with any repeatable rewards is Ranked PvP means that no reasonable person would ever assume it would be anything else (by the US legal definition of "reasonable person" which is comfortably above average intelligence).
