Holy hell they neutered mikanko...
Is the event indicative of future banlists? Because JFC this is bleak. they gutted mikanko ridiculously hard

Why wouldn't they?

Considering that the event is ritual based and thus they banned every ED monster that isn't Ritual support, the best decks would be Labrynth and Mikanko, so they need to gut the hell out of them so it's not another two deck event.
Kane526 9 nov. 2023 às 5:28
And obviously Drytron Herald but that deck has also been promptly exploded.
Papa Shekels 9 nov. 2023 às 5:32
That's not really unexpected. Even if mikanko has a ritual monster, they don't play as a ritual deck. It's basically just numeron and ben kei mixed together unless people truly dig into the archetype and learn its disruptions. Both those decks already have a tendency of getting banned in events because of how shallow they make it, so hitting the improved version of them should be no surprise

Means its a great event for all 10 of Rituals strongest soldiers I really don't think this was the event they should be sandwiching between 2 duelist cups ideally you want a good one like the highlander one
They may have banned Guard Dog, but they didn't ban Forbidden :cleanseal:

They limited going second Mikanko. They're perfectly fine going first. If you've ever played the deck beyond turn 2, you know this. Probably what hurts the most is what hurts every other deck: Herald of the Arc Light being limited to 1.

Man, its not that I don't know it. It's that I spent 14,000 gems on the mikanko pack. I didn't pull a single diviner. Not. ONE. I decided to just play them pure, and it turns out they aren't that bad, but losing double-edge hurts regardless if you're doing first or second build, but more importantly, losing Arabesque hurts a lot. Don't try to lecture me on "how to play them" I got royally screwed in my packs. I'd be tempted to dust purrley for diviners, except I got so many of the damn things I may as well play it at some point.

Please don't assume my tone. I'm not trying to lecture you. That's coming from you, not me.

Add Roland, add Durendal, add a Herald of the Arc Light, pay 500 gems for the DM SD and an IOC draw package with Tool Box. If you can't run Diviner, you can at least use the Durendal/Roland package to synchro into a Herald for a spell negate. Run more Ni-Ni and some hand traps like imperm. Pick up Metalsilver Armor. Flex. Adjust. The event'll be over before you know it.

I had to generate all of my Diviners too back when Dogmatika got its support only to pull a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of them on the pack, but frankly, with only a single Herald and none of the other good targets available (particularly synchro summoning targets like Power Tool Dragon off its level tuning effect), it's genuinely going to be worse than usual, so you could potentially just cut it.

You could also try running Thrust or Talent to get to extra copies of Preparation of Rituals. I don't know. Just don't assume I'm posting in bad faith.

Also reminder that Ni-Ni is a highly searchable spellcaster within the archetype and that not only is the IOC package legal, but so are Magician's Left Hand and Magician's Right Hand.

I'm already running 3 of her, but I didn't think about doing too much with the spell caster package (oddly enough, I'm already doing a lot of what you suggested, but I do appreciate the advice, sorry for sounding cranky earlier), to be honest, since you're being so open with things, I'll just say I am glad to have a legit reason to run the field. It's way better than people think. It's NOT a "once per turn" which means orihime can get in a stupid amount of attacks if you're willing to burn all your equips. It makes it really easy to do like 6 attacks, which is perfect if your opponent has anything 1500+. (2 mikankos+orihime+4 equips= 8 attacks total). Plus the field forcing attacks is pretty sweet as a deterrent.

I'll give it a shot. Plenty of space for experimentation during the event when you're not going to be up against Kash, Purrely, D-Link, Labrynth, and Mathmechs. I just hope Drytron Heralds aren't going to be a problem.

Probably just going to run Ancient Warriors, losing access to DDL is pretty much their only hit.

Not *all* the Kaijus are banned. Just the ones that Mikanko use. Gameciel and Sticky String are still legal with Slumber around and yes Arabesque to 1 hurts alot you can somewhat mitigate this by running more copies of Hidden Armory which is searchable with Thrust. Going 2nd Mikanko is still very much playable, just not able to OTK outside of specific hands because of the lack of Sword. Or you can play a Warrior heavy variant and go first (and feel sad about no Isolde). Pot of Prosperity not being banned definitely helps with the consistency of the deck as does IoC.

On the flip side Maxx "C" and Droll being banned for this event is going to be very interesting. Especially the no Droll part.
