Yet another case of problematic misleading card effects texts.
Silly things like this is getting pretty old really.

Masked HERO Dark Law effect only says: Any card SENT to your opponent's Graveyard is banished instead. Period. Keyword here is sent.

So whatever cards that are [SENT] to the GY gets automatically moved to banished zone [AFTER] they have been [SENT]to the GY. Nowhere in the card is saying I am prevented to SEND cards to the GY or (redundant enforcement): that the cards goes directly to the banish zone instead of being SENT to GY first.

So how exactly for whatever r3t4rd3d reason Konami rules decides I cannot activate effects like Upstart Golden Ninja THAT [SENDS] a trap to the GY to special summon a monster???
As I see this, the card can be sent to GY because there is nothing preventing me from doing so. What will happen with the card AFTER it has been SENT IS NOT MY PROBLEM. Upstart Golden Ninja effect doesn't states the card must remain in GY to resolve its effect. On top of that, sending the card to GY is a cost and not part of the effect. And even if it was the case Masked HERO Dark Law wasn't supposed to prevent me from activating my effect at all. This is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Fix your rules please.

Any cards that send a card to the grave as a cost cannot be activated under dark law because you cannot pay the cost look for the ; this is why you cannot maxx C under dark law.

If your card just sent something to the grave as part of its effect then dark law changes nothing

Any card sent to your opponents GY is Banished Instead means if a card would be sent there it will instead go to the Banished zone not Banished afterwards. The words are used correctly. Your understanding is wrong here not the rules.

You cannot use Ninja cause its wording says Send to GY. Meaning to activate you must send it to the GY but you are currently being floodgated to not be able to do so. If Ninja said Discard it would activate fine.

I hope this helps you.

This is only true if its a cost you can send cards to the Graveyard all you want as part of an effect Tearlaments scherien is a great example of this she would have no issue activating under dark law

How I cannot pay the cost. I will go on and repeat what the card text says: Masked HERO Dark Law doesn't prevent opponent cards from being sent to the graveyard. It banishes cards that are send there. Period.

Lmao, the mental gymnastics to defend an obvious flaw is amusing.
If this works as you say then the correct text for Masked HERO Dark Law was supposed to be: "... Any card THAT WOULD BE SENT to your opponent's Graveyard is banished instead." Again, it banishes cards THAT ARE SENT TO THE GY it does not prevent them from going there.

Text is clearly wrong. YuGiOh is the only game where literal words don't follow their literal meaning.
Please fix the text and reprint the card with an errata.

The "instead" means the cards never hit the GY to begin with. That's just how it works.

No, that is the correct wording. Why do you think it says Instead.

Here's the exact wording of Dark Law: Any Card Sent To Your Opponents GY is Banished Instead.

It does not say it banishes cards that are sent. It says any card sent. Meaning any card that would be. Any Card Sent is correct grammar. You do not need to add useless words to get the meaning.

Instead covers it all. Instead does not mean banish it afterwards. Instead means if something would do something it would do this INSTEAD. This being the text prior to the word INSTEAD.

You cannot send the card to the Graveyard you cannot pay the cost as it is written it's the same reason macro cosmos works on pendulums because they are redirected to the banish pile under dark law your cards never go to the graveyard they are banished.

Flint i've never seen you be correct on any ruling but you always double down. Just assume you are wrong instead of this. If you just asked we would all happily tell you why it works the way it works.

I don't wanna be rude but come on man. Isn't this getting old for you?

That's not what is written. I know YGO players can't read but you're just forcing the bar here.
Again: Any card SENT to your opponent's Graveyard is banished instead.
If cards are not being first sent to the GY than Dark Law pretty much nullifies its own effect and this is the dumbest thing I've seen.

And you're not reading the INSTEAD.

This is like the 5th time you've made one of these, and EVERY TIME , it is on you not comprehending the wording.

And you are forgetting that part that it only banishes the card AFTER it is sent to GY. It does not prevent me from sending cards there. Correct wording would include WOULD in the text.
So the text is misleading and obvious wrong.

INSTEAD READ THE WORD INSTEAD.

Tell me what Instead means right now. Do it. Ignore Yugioh cards for a second. What does Instead mean.

How it can banish a card that doesn't exist in the GY yet. The effect contradicts the game ruling and you know that. It shouldn't prevent me from sending the card to the GY at all. In order for it to get banned, it must fist be dropped into GY and then immediately after that Dark Law effect is supposed to take place.
Looks like you are unable to admit when you are wrong.
