Anyone here plays this game but hates the company Konami?

I'll start with myself, I don't play this game, at least until I inevitably come back to it in whichever year like everyone else who quits Yu-Gi-Oh apparently.

But I do strongly dislike Konami. They're definitely a Japanese EA, if not worse, it when comes to nickel and diming players. And we fall for it is the sad part.

There's also the fact that they're known to treat their employees terribly, Kojima is the infamous example, but imagine how a no-name employee is treated. They're not even allowed to write Konami as a referral on their resumes if they planned to switch jobs.

Kojima himself had influence, look up "Hidden Meaning of PT" on youtube, and see how Kojima vented.

And the best part is, both Konami and Kojima, after their divorce, did way worse off. Proving that that unhappy marriage was actually best for both of them.

While this was poorly worded, I don't disagree.

Everyone in this thread doesn't like Konami, yet we all play a small part in letting it get as bad as it did.

We can enjoy yugioh and not be responsible for Konami doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I like Nintendo games and I don't play a small part in any of Nintendos braindead comic villain antics

I don't know if I 100% agree with this, it does seem rather arbitrary to not care about how a company treats their own people, but care very much about a company's political views, but fair enough.

Unless the creator shoehorns their own politics into their products (this includes censorship), I shouldn't care what a creator's views are. Certainly a lot less concerned than how they treat their staff.

To be fair, while there's a lot of reasons to disapprove the company, I don't think this is one of them.

They simply thought that was where the money was and went along with it. And they were wrong. The point is, they didn't burn the bridge against their fans on the way out. Pretty sure everyone deserves another chance.

I am far more invested in Nintendo stuff so am I responsible for them attacking their own fans? Absolutely not I like the games not the company and I treat all gaming companies like that I stopped respecting them they release the game I play it thats where it ends.

Hate is a very strong, unhealthy emotion. I love yugioh as a franchise. I don't care for konami at all. But then, almost every single major publisher is scum, imo. EA? Greedy trash. Ubisoft? Greedy trash. Sony? Microsoft? Nintendo? Bethesda? ActiBlizzard? 2K? All trash. But they all have good games/franchises every so often.
I'm not going to stop playing yugioh just because konami is trash. The same as I'm not going to stop playing pokemon, fallout, or various other ips just because the publishers are scummy.

Maybe the dead of Catlevania? there wasnt games of that series to the ps4 or ps5 so far, thats a bit of a bad move on your eyes?

Sad truth is, if youre gonna stick to companies that dont make scummy moves every now and again, youre not gonna be buying much stuff. Its just how people are, jackassess are a decent amount of the population and if any organization grows past 2 or 3 people, its almost a statistical fact someone is gonna be a jerk

Like... its almost impossible to name a big company that dont do things like abusing illegal imigrants or buy raw materials from companies that offers low prices on the back of exploring desperate low income families in most underdeveloped parts of the world. China is pretty much making the whole world run on the back of borderline slave labor. Its easy to just look at the top employees and forget the masses that work 60 hours a week for a salary that is just enough to have a small home and food(and make for most of mankind and keep the world moving... someone have to be the garbage man...)

Master duel is on the "generous" end of the scale, anyway(in fact, stuff is so expensive with real money and acessible with offered daily, im honestly weirded out how people buy gems at all...). And at least the modes outside ranked and day 1 events are super playable, so why not? At least konami did not descended to blizzard levels that on top of being scummy, cant even make games that are not agressively mediocre at best

Yeah you got a couple of points but it feels like if you dont try to wise up in a good way you just gonna get run over by companies, probably I am one of lucky ones that got a decent income for a bit of a fun life.

Here's the thing, you don't have to care about what a corpo does to enjoy their products, nor am I saying you should even feel burdened to do (or not do) something about it.

However, it is extremely naive to say that if you're giving money to companies that do things you may not necessarily approve of, you're not also contributing to that very thing. There's too many people that don't understand this and continuously fund people that outright hate them.
