Is it just me or is meta decks making this game really boring

I'm starting to get really bored playing this game because every time I duel its always against the same meta decks. And I can't use the decks I want to use because they will get steam rolled by the op meta decks so I'm forced to to either hope that in my few hours of playing I'll run into someone not running meta decks or just use a boring meta deck myself. That paired with the fact that if I want to earn more gems to get new cards I have to play ranked to the point that there is no reason to play casual duels means I'm only gonna run into meta decks

Its not JUST you but its heavily you. Plenty of people are having fun without any such concerns. I play anime or gimmick decks in Ranked gold all the time without running into a bunch of Meta stuff. The point of casual is to bail when you see your opponent playing stuff you aren't interested in. Win rates are decent enough so no problem for me.

So unless your playing absolute garbage that was never good or stuff from like 2003 no updates then you should be fine. Bad luck is bad luck.

HOWEVER keep in mind that you could just be incorrect about what a Meta Deck is. A lot of people call anything competent a Meta deck. Like Eldlich. That isn't a Meta deck last I checked. It certainly wasn't when people complained about it a few weeks back. Its not bad but Meta is a much higher bar than not bad.

There are only a hand full of actual Meta Decks. Then there are decks that can keep up with the Meta a bit. Then there are decks that can only play the non meta decks. Then below that there are people playing numeron and other nonsense for quick wins. And just below those decks is where most anime casuals are playing with their oldschool decks you wouldn't win a match with in 2005.

If your deck looks like a structure deck then being Meta isn't the problem.

Honestly without knowing you personally Yes it is you I find typically people who immediately label everything under meta this and meta that don't even really care once they label it as meta its boring. They also tend to label things as meta once and then never remove it I know people who labeled Tri-brigade as a meta deck and always claimed it as one no matter what was going on I think the closest we got to Tri-brigade being meta again was spright but pures just better I think.

As an example I don't really like Branded Despia I tried it bores me half to death I got no clue why but I like to jam Branded into other fusion archtypes and that enhances the fun I get to have.

that's how ranking systems with rewards works, people play meta to climb the rankings faster and get rewards faster, if you want to play bad decks either stay at lower ranks or play friendly matches with other people running bad decks

People like winning and playing meta means winning more often. Doesn't have to be about rewards. The sad truth about any PvP game ever.

Outplaying and beating the meta with weak decks is what makes them fun in my experience

its not just you, the "meta"-Players can talk what they want but everything above Plat 5 is just straight boring... 90% of the decks are copy/paste from some Pro-Deck and most of the players dont know to handle the deck after turn 3... Its straight boring... Spright, Spright, Tears, Spright, Tears... and always the same...I recommend to stay in gold you will have much more fun and much more different decks...

Meta decks are in low ranks aswell so that is not an solution for him. His only solution is play with a friend.

90% of the decks are copy/paste from some Pro-Deck

not even, it's copy pasted from either mdm discord pin lists for the deck or from mdm deck lists, neither of which are from pro players, mainly because pro players play tcg, while MD uses a custom banlist so most decks are significantly different (maxx c counter package for example)
