One negate/pop on a good day? Bruh that's everyday for those 2 deck. They are both 1-2 card full combo what are you talking about?
Like yeah, they are more fair than the latest deck but you're understating they're power by a lot.
Like the Maxx C situation you mentioned. Sword soul can get a negate and 2 pop with only 2 special summon, and the way you phrase it makes it sounds bad, but its really good.
but they try to bring out balanced cards yugioh tries to bring out cool cards that are sometimes op
I only play casual at this point, if I see that my rival it's a bothersome annoying deck user, I just quit fast, next.
Most of my games was againts Sky Strikers, Exosister or Spright or other meta decks that throw in Spright into thier decks just because they can. Good I already farmed 3k gems together for event pack and called it a day. Funny i did not face a single Blue Eyes or DM player but I faced the Usual Dytron player that hide behind 10+ negates and Herald of Ultimate and faced one Gravekeeper and one Umi deck and one Numeron OTK.
Cant see anything but massive Spright nerfs to the next banlist cause those cards are way too good into allmost everything.
But even among those people, some are still willing to tolerate the game in it's current state because this is the best medium to play YuGiOh*.
Whereas there is a vocal minority that actually thinks such a meta is healthy and good for the game.
It's kind of a spectrum though.
Is special summoning 30 times a turn to lock your opponent an issue?
How about special summoning 20 times to accomplish the same thing?
What if people special summon 2 times but still lock their opponent out from being able to play?
What if the deck isn't consistent? (meta decks are, but this is a hypothetical)
What if there is reasonable or consistent counterplay? (meta decks also lack these)
Each person has their own tolerance for bad design, and can think of ways to improve the game for themselves.
But even if this game has glaring issues, it's not completely unfun or broken.
Personally, my Dueslist Cup experience so far has been quite enjoyable. In fact my first match was against D/D/D and it was quite fun. Since losing in the first 15 levels isn't really that big of a deal, a lot of people are playing fun decks at that level. For those struggling, just wait a few days for the Platinum & Diamond players to hit level 20.
