the cards look nice and its interesting how they are played
but i dont play them because i dont have enough of them to make a deck
also the food stuff looks nice too
They have this cool artwork and unique gameplay but considering how complex it is for me ( such as how a single mistake could ruin your combo entirely without opponent interface), I only see them play in youtube.
I am very amazed by people that managed to build a good field with that deck.
Fabled in design and lore feel like the pre-cursors to the Despia. I hope they get some support one day that makes them into a real Synchro threat that can actually play modern Yugioh. Maybe a couple new bosses that actually protect you would be a good start.
They have to destroy a face up card that you control. It can't be a set magic, trap, or monster card which is the biggest weakness the archetype has because if they didn't have this tiny bit of a restriction the cards would be decent enough to be played. That's the only issue I have with Metalfoes as everything else about it is fine.
For an idea that I would like to see for support on Metalfoes is a continuous spell card that has an effect which allows you to return/reveal/shuffle one Metalfoe card in your hand to the deck to add one Metalfoe card from your deck to your hand with a different name from the card that you returned/revealed/shuffled from your hand to the deck. The destruction effect when destroyed would apply the effect of you special summoning one face up Metalfoe monster from your extra deck.
I think something along the lines of this would greatly benefit the Metalfoes archetype to be played and explored. A continuous spell card would be important for the deck to start making turn one plays and it would help the deck get to where it should be. Other than that, Metalfoes would be pretty fun to play but knowing the state of the game right now I have to say that even the World Chalice cards is probably better than Metalfoes.
Alternatively, earthbound immortals. I do like the idea of decks that sit on one powerful card and have to protect it with a "life source" of some kind. Runick does a pretty good job of that with fountain. Unfortunately, the immortals just don't do enough and are a massive pain to bring out in the first place. But their designs are so cool
Aslla Piscu's a decent fit in a Floo deck. (granted more often than not there are better options to use Eglen's search effect on *Apex Avian and Dark Simorgh being a couple of non-Floo examples*, but sometimes you just need a 2500 ATK direct attacker that can also pull a Lightning Storm + burn damage if it leaves the field)
Spent a long time trying to make either of them work in several warrior and spellcaster focused decks, but the summon requirements are just too rough and their starting statlines too low for them to survive. Shame, I've been hoping they'd get the Armed Dragon treatment.
Absolutely HATE the playstyle and how they often boil the gamestate down to "can you out my beefy Macro Cosmos on legs or not? Oh and zones may or may not be screwed *and* I hope you like cheap banish face downs." These guys have been a stain in the TCG for the last few months and are basically a less interactive Tier 1 format. They make me want Tears back, and I am utterly sick of the mermaids. Thankfully the latest banlist has made things a lot better, but with the newest decks being hit at the same time it's very frustrating to know what to invest in.
Ursarctic - Space Bear Gundams
Vaylantz - One of my favourite archetypes aesthetically. Enjoy the occasional Pendulum deck but 0 interest in 4D chess
Super Quant - Power Rangers with perfect flavor in YGO form. Would like to try one day
Galaxy - Boring OTK fest. GEPD for Best Dragon Visuals of All Time
Virtual World - Love the visuals, despise the playstyle
Crystron - Cool robots combining as a Synchro archetype. Beginning to see a pattern here
Evol - I like the gimmick of reptiles evolving into dinosaurs into dragons and they all look cool. They're just too bad
Gem-Knight - Haven't looked into it after the newest Ladies came out but before they were really boring.
Jurrac - Dinosaurs on fire, but they sucked already 65 million years ago
Nemeses - All the little guys look awesome. Eschatos and Protos less so and they don't really work as a deck.
Sky Striker - Played it for visuals, didn't enjoy it
The Weather - Cute art, incredibly boring duels
Traptrix - Worse Labrynth in every way
Trickstar - Never really thought about it. Might try soon
