Losing interest

I don't know why, but the latest pack sucked out all my enthusiasm for the game, despite the fact that it was packed to the gills with support I'd been waiting a long time for. It feels like the intensity of duels reached a fever pitch a couple of months ago with the release of Tears and Ishizu support and it hasn't really ever toned back down.

Normally when we get these sorts of enormous power spikes in the meta there are (eventually) banlists to curb the upper end, but instead its felt like every subsequent release has done nothing but pour gas on the fire. As a result, just about every duel feels like we're back in Halqadon meta, only with endless recursion to follow the "unbreakable" boards and exhausting first turn combos. I think that Konami's approach with MD is to see if they can get away with leaving a lot of problem cards with less restrictions than they eventually got in TCG/OCG if they introduce competition and counters, but the result is that the power level is only ever increasing, never decreasing, and while the meta is becoming fairly diverse, it's also making it impossible to run targeted counters due to that diversity, which doesn't work in a Bo1 format where you can lose by simply not running the out.

Moreover, I just feel like everyone around me is perpetually malding and the attitude of the community has turned venomous towards anyone that isn't themselves, not that it was ever all that different, but playing or discussing Yugioh anymore is just... exhausting.

I dunno. I don't really expect anyone to care. I'm not upset and I'm not angrily quitting the game or anything. I just feel sort of weirdly drained when, more than ever before, I feel like I should be happily playing with my new cards and I was wondering if anyone else is feeling the same way.

You are just burn't out. Take a break. Not a week or anything, quit for all intents and purposes. Just let all the negativity you have built up go and do something else. One day you might feel like playing again.

You are as you said drained. So go recharge.

+1. Classic burnout, the only cure is to give it a rest and do something else for a while. Sometimes that "while" is as little as a few days, sometimes it can stretch on into years. But the bottom line is if you're not having fun, if the game feels more like a chore you ought to do than something you want to do, then you don't need to subject yourself to it.

Well, it seems like you tired. It's normal not to mention if you Play this game on daily.

Personally I take a break from master duel like, 5 month I guess? Then I come back since one day I feel urge to play it once more till this day.

The good news is, you don't have to worry about FOMO.

you say that, but I knew the reason my tearlament mills weren't as good as other tear players was because I didn't have the Instant Fusion mate, that was a limited time only one unfortunately

Yeah I been staying sane during these past few metas by just hoarding up dailies and doing them when I feel like it. You would actually have to pay me an actual salary to sit down and try to bang my head to rank through this meta as it's getting more and more frustrating funny to try and play when my opponent sits there and says "our turn."

Take a break or play the game once in a while or check in during the next expansion and see how you feel. This game thankfully doesn't force your attention as hard as other games do so there's no harm in taking it easy.

I feel the same way. I only do dailies and play some casual matches to try my decks out. Ranked's not it. It's only tear/spright and some branded or branded hybrids. Thank God I didn't face labrynth as much. I am just trying new cards and decks on edopro at the moment and it's honestly better than doing the same repetitive thing all the time. Maybe try something like that or just take a break from the game as others have mentioned.

They tilted the viewing angle of some mates at the versus screen recently, ramen included.
Now you can't read the 'fusion' on it making it almost unrecognizable without prior knowledge - interesting method to devalue a mate

Had to do a double take for Book of Moon as I didn't recognize it
