This trial event thing really isn't making me want to spend money
If Konami wants to show off cool archetypes and get people hyped to play them, giving them STARTER DECK level trial decks is a pretty terrible idea. I know that HERO, Utopia and... that other one can be fun decks, but not when you shove in a ton of NORMAL HEROs, and the worst the GAGAGA and GOGOGO cards (I guess Zubababa, Dododo and so on weren't invited) - and also leave out all of the newer support which actually lets the decks make any fun plays at all.
Please let the Stardust players continue to brick, though - I love the deck, but I'd rather watch paint dry than play against it.

I get not wanting to put in DPE, or Utopia Lightning/Double,. Junk Speeder and stuff like that, but the fact that the MAIN DECK is so abysmal is just sad.
This event should be getting people excited to try new decks and spend gems - preferably ones they spent real money on - to do so, at least that's what I assume... Yet I can't imagine many people being too thrilled about the showing these loner decks put up, even if they are very casual and don't care about the high-end stuff. You don't even get to make the FUN plays because they cut all of the consistency cards that make the gimmicky options even remotely possible to pull off!

I shouldn't have to T-Set with a Utopias in 2023 in over half of my games because I can't make a single Rank 4 with an opening hand. On the flip side, Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray seems to just be an instant win because it has 1 monster negate, and maybe 1 trap negate if you choose to go for it... Or it can OTK really easily.

It's not a HERO deck it's a Jaden deck hence why none of the others are in here and it's just stuff he used in the anime with some exceptions, also it's not meant to advertise or hype anything it's just a fun anime deck event

That doesn't fit the idea of a "trial" of an archetype. That fits the festival that just ended.

Maybe it's because this event has nothing to do with the "trial of an archetype", it's just an event where KONAMI made loaners for people to use

Yeah, I'm not really digging this event. The decks are complete ass to the point that it's absolute luck who wins these dumb grindy games, and people for some reason are taking 5 minutes to T set pass. Like wtf?

Its the first try. Let them cook.

I don't usually complain but I hate this event. I keep getting bricks in my hand when my opponent somehow special summon monsters with 4000 attack. There is only 1 Gagaga magician in the deck and they opened it twice while I hopelessly waited for him with a bunch of useless traps. What is this Gagaga shield when you don't even have any spellcaster monsters :csdmeh:

You keep getting bricks because the entire deck is a brick.

I mean, skill issue, just draw the out.

I'm having a bit of fun since the decks are lacking in power, the duels last more turns. :steamhappy:
Trying to understand how junk operates, and make use of it is a new experience.
Definitely won't stick around with the event after I get all the rewards though.

Xyz better than fusion and synchro in term of brick. Tried fusion and synchro only once i win. Against synchro ofc. When both brick so hard. Only 2 people entire game playing synchro knowing fusion brick. 20 match just xyz (was trying to finish dailies for fusion and give up because of too bricked)
Merilirem Mar 2, 2023 @ 5:02am
The fusion deck isn't bad but its MUCH better if you draw grand mole. That card alone wins the mirror.

That's due to the fact you have to plan carefully if you're gonna waste your resource then and there in that turn or save it for a later turn, coupled with the fact that a lot of people don't read every single card description before the duel so they don't know what, what does what plus thinking ahead in the grind game. There is more than meets the eye with long pauses with basic loaner decks.

I managed to summon majestic Star Dragon on my last game for the pack and felt like an absolute BOSS doing it, takes planning and luck with the bricky decks.

Wish there was more rewards. That was WAY too short lived for an event.

I won twice and on the third my opponent mercifully disconnected at the start of the game.

It only lasts a few days. Clearly its just something they can drop on us between real events to keep us interested.

I personally found the event to be fine, but the loaner decks really leave a lot to be desired. The Synchro deck is pretty much a huge mess because of the named tuners and them being all one-ofs.
