Fix The Coin Toss Please
Too unreliable make it rock paper scissors, just seems more fair that way.

In locals you roll a dice and the one with highest number go first. Coin flip and rock paper thing is basically the same. Both players have equel chance of winning no matter which one you pick. Only reason people hate it is because you think it has some kind of system that favor one over others.

That's a player's choice thing.

This is fine. Takes less time to resolve a coin flip than a RPS struggle which happens juuuuuuuust enough to make me not want it here.

Coin flips, rolling dice, and rock-paper-scissors are a thing of the past, you should have to play your opponent in Yu-Gi-Oh! to decide who goes first.

I like the idea of forcing a 4v4 Mahjong match to decide who goes first in yugioh.

It might take a bit but I'm all for destroying my opponents in Mahjong as well.

People always advocate for the RPS because they think it involves skill, so there should be a game that does take skill instead.

RPS is just a coin toss with extra steps.
skill issue

Whoever is able to leave the house and touch grass first goes first however we understand this is impossible so no game will ever start

You reminded me of Over The Nexus, where Crash Town replaces the RPS of the rest of the game with a minigame that simulates the quickdraw method used in that arc of the anime to determine who goes first.

If you played RPS long enough with people on DB or even DN or any other simulator, you'd know there'd be patterns of what people choose and are able to win based on that alone

And if you played RPS long enough with people on DB or even DN or any other simulator, you'd know that people are just as likely to just choose at random to get into a duel faster.

Even barring that, unless you know the person well enough to have played them a few times there is no way of knowing what strategy they might use.

RPS with strangers is literally just 2/3 chance of being a coin toss and a 1/3 chance of going again.

The coin toss is just better, end of story.

That's just some reddit-tier armchair psychology. When you are facing random strangers that you will likely never see again in a best of 1, there are exactly 0 meaningful patterns or applications. You are guessing at complete random, and apparently you feel like you outsmarted your opponent during that 50% of the time you win the RPS. Maybe some people enjoy that fake feeling of accomplishment, but the reality is the chances are exactly the same as a random coin flip, with the only other difference being that it wastes everybody's time before entering a game. This would be an active detriment to the game

From thousands of duels, I found 65% of players I faced against always went Paper and 40% Rock and 5% Scissors.
