Then explain why my opponent was able to use Soul Crossing's effect to tribute an Eldlich the Golden Lord that was unaffected by card effects that turn.

No, seriously. I sincerely want to know why that worked but Lair of Darkness won't. Is it just because one's for a summon and the other's to activate an effect?
What effect gave him the unaffected by card effects? His own ability does not if that is what you mean.

Shiranui Style Success's "activated from the GY" effect. (Soul Crossing was activated first in the chain link, so SSS's effect resolved first)

I edited my last post, it seems to be a "because Konami Said So" situation.

Q:
Due to the effect of Soul Crossing, I Tribute Summon a Divine-Beast monster, and am allowed to Tribute monsters my opponent controls even though I do not control them.

In this situation, can I also Tribute a monster my opponent controls that is unaffected by the effect of Soul Crossing?
A:
Even if a monster is unaffected by Spell effects, that monster can still be Tributed for the Tribute Summon.

The Tribute Summon is performed due to the effect of Soul Crossing, but any monsters Tributed are not Tributed due to its effect.

It directly contradicts all previous rulings.... that's fun. Konami is so consistent...

Edit:

Apparently their reasoning is that the effect is to perform a tribute summon, not to tribute a monster for a tribute summon so it counts as a cost.... Why do they do this...

Figures. Hell, The Monarchs Stormforth (something that's VERY similar to Soul Crossing) has the same ruling as LoD...

I swear, if I end up getting a stroke from this I'm sending Konami the bill. XD

Wait I just read rikka_flurries ruling, I got a similar situation in the past with rikka_flurries and Cyberdark_End_Dragon, why did my opponent not tribute that Cyberdark_End_Dragon? Am I reading that rule wrong? (MD btw)

Therefore, even monsters unaffected by Trap effects will be banished face-down. Also, this is not treated as a monster being banished face-down by a the effect of a Trap Card.
The effects of the following cards are also not considered to affect cards in the hand, field, or GY, just like "Evenly Matched":

- "Apoqliphort Towers"
- "Battle of the Elements"
- "Brutal Beast Battle"
- "Bubble Crash"
- "Cyber Angel Dakini"
- "Cyber Angel Izana"
- "Evil★Twins Ki-sikil & Lil-la"
- "Extinction on Schedule"
- "Ferret Flames"
- "Forbidden Apocrypha"
- "Harr, Generaider Boss of Storms"
- "Herald of the Abyss"
- "Kashtira Big Bang"
- "Magikey Spirit - Vepartu"
- "Maple Maiden"
- "Millennium Revelation"
- "Rikka Flurries"

Some effects targets to player do something. Like Evenly Match, its targets you opponent do banish cards, so there is no protection.

When "Destructive Daruma Karma Cannon" arrives to MD, then any unaffected monster card is not safe.

Card effect: "Change as many monsters on the field as possible to face-down Defense Position, then, if either player controls a face-up monster(s), they must send all face-up monsters they control to the GY."
First its targets all monsters on the field, then its targets both players.

If it was happened in the chain links, then its unaffected by its effect.

"...Your opponent’s Cyberdark End Dragon is unaffected by effects activated by the opponent, which means it is unaffected by the effect that applies when an effect’s resolution (Chain Link) occurs. However, it is still affected by effects that apply outside of a Chain Link’s resolution..."

Oh I forgot about one more solution... Starving Venom fusion mosters "can steal" their effects.

Copy. They can copy since its not actually affecting the monster in question. Just gaining power based on their existence.

Also, I believe an already active Skill Drain would work. (as there's a very small window after a monster's summoning where its continuous effects are not yet applied, allowing Skill Drain to do its work)

Nope.

One funny way to out them is to reduce your opponent's life points to 0, since Ultimate Falcon is usually in attack position due to its relatively low DEF and Arrival is a Link Monster that therefore outright can't be in defense position. Other victory conditions also work, but going full ARC-V "but you still take the damage" is the funniest.

I know that's how it works with Jinzo, but can't remember how unaffected works. This sort of thing is why MtG is on record that it can't do "unaffected" (while stuff like Prophecy and Archfiends are why it says it can't do Yugioh-style partial name matching)

Well Power Bond's atk boost effect works on Ancient Gear Howitzer (who's unaffected by card effects); likely because that effect does its thing before Howitzer's effect has the chance to apply itself. I'm just applying that logic to Skill Drain.

Unfortunately doesn't work - field tested with Geomathmech Final Sigma.

The problem is that negate doesn't equal card text being erased.
