As for Yugioh as a game its VERY steep to learn. If you just want a card game to play for simple fun I would recommend Legends of Runeterra.
If you want to give Yugioh a shot though feel free. Its my fave card game personally and I have played most of them.
You get a very generous amount of resources to create a few decks early on, and the acquisition rate for a player beyond that is reasonable. Nearly every card in the game is available, but there are a few exceptions and they are about half a year behind compared to real life set releases.
The balance is pretty eh, it's best of 1 so random blowout games are to be expected, but they do not have nearly enough "game-ending" cards banned to seriously consider it balanced. You basically just always need to be prepared for multiple different play styles and just accept that you may lose if you don't draw what you need.
The game could also use some new modes/formats, currently there is a fairly extensive solo mode alongside casual/ranked multiplayer games. Once a month or so we get an event with certain card restrictions, but many people have wanted something like that as a permanent game mode. You would have to play with somebody in a custom rule and enforce rules yourself if you want to do anything other than just the regular format game
