So what happened to fair matchmaking?

Most seasons I finish high gold or plat with a diamond or two so far.

Today, trying to climb out of silver I lose 9 matches in a row to high value meta decks. I'm starting to think this is dev harassment for all of the support tickets I've put in that they've refused to answer. Will be updating my review to reflect this.

Indeed. I am Diamond capable myself, I just haven't played enough ranked matches so here I am in silver lol. Takes time but if you don't maintain rank you drop and its honestly more enjoyable to let it happen rather than forcing yourself to play for basically no reward.

The real problem, is that high level players arent locked high enough on the ladder, so that they could all play in their META-HELL sandbox (otherwise like casuals, they rank down over time like the rest). Reminds me of highly skilled Tekken players purposefully making ALT accounts so they would go back bullying lower level players in ranked modes. However, on the other end of that issue is the DEVs not rewarding the pro elites (im not one at all lol lower your pitchforks) to strive to go further and further higher. Maybe add more ranks to diversify the power level range of the community.


I understand both sides of the issue. But like... not fun playing, turn one, the opp. played 50~80% of its deck and has a full omni-negate board (that is infinite/self refunding too). Side note, its funny seeing the MOXXC religion folks panicking and using it on a dime without reading. XD

I still don't know what deck has high resurgency and a field full of omnis. The only boards i can think of that make a buncha negates (Post Halq ban) not specifically omnis is Synchro Splash, Adamancipator, Herald Drytron and some builds of Dragon Link.

Dragon Link is a bit iffy since i don't know exactly what they do cause it's confusing. They're mostly free form until there boss monsters so it's hard to judge there ability to rebuild the board.

Synchro Splash cannot they use like 14 Extra Deck monsters to end on 6 which all have specific negations maybe 1 has an omni i can't remember exactly. But that was also Pre Halq ban so they can't do that anymore probably.

Herald can come back but mostly they just do 4mat Zeus after turn 2 since you've probably been exhausted of all resources.

Adamancipator has seen a come back or atleast i've seen them again after half a year of there absence. Just ban block Dragon and we good lol

Dude, these guys even called DPE an omni-negate.

Any form of interruption is more or less an omni-negate in their eyes.

Weak. Made it almost to Diamond using a Blue-Eyes MAX dragon deck. After plat 3, people have too many negates for my unga-bunga big boi to power through.

also, drawing cards from your deck is based on "luck".

i can tell you that there is RNG involve.

don't expect every single match that you will have the cards you want in the first round or within 3 rounds.

i'm sure there is a percentage when drawing cards from your deck.

for example, exodia 5 cards, the percentage of drawing all 5 at start of the match is extremely low already. and it is even lower after you draw 1 out of 5 of it.

if your deck contains 40 cards to 60 cards, then chances of getting the card you want next round is extremely low.

Matchmaking is fair. You get matched with the same rank as you.

Game is 70% luck 30% skill. Ranks does not matter when you run OTK decks or decks with 15 handtraps that wont allow your opponent to make a single move or win a game because your deck decided to give you the winning card. You can talk about fair matchmaking when both players have same resources and winning conditions. Not who has most handtraps in his deck and run full omi negate deck vs a newbie with starter deck and no handtraps.
