Running out of Time on Oponents turn

Latetly I've been losing a couple of ranked duels not because my oponent beat me but because I run out of time. I'm not the best of players but I know my deck and combos, I don't play slow but my combos are usually long and have lots of chains (I'm playing Marincess btw), a lot of the time my oponent just quits after 2 minutes o me link summoning my 10th monster on the first turn but I don't have any other choice, that's just how the combos are. So when the duel doesn't end on first turn my oponent plays then it's my turn again and I have usually about 90-130 seconds to combo again to counter all the other guy throwed at me, the thing is it's not enough time, and It's frustrating being 2 or three plays from winning and losing because the timer run out.

Also the timer resets on your next turn, so during your oponents turn any counter effect you wanna activate uses what little time is left, I had a duel where I cleaned my oponents field, attacked, left him ready to die in my next turn but ended with exactly 1 second left, then he plays, activates something and the games asks me, you wanna counter it?, oh sorry your times up you LOSE. Like what the hell, how can i lose on my oponents turn because of time, I mean, if my oponent plays and I can counter I have the right to counter, but with this timer logic I would have to mash cancel button so I dont die from timeout and my oponent gets free pass, I cannot counter him or I die.

Play faster, that's your only solution.

As I said, I find the timer annoying too, but for Marincess, it's not an issue. I usually win or lose before the timer is even an issue.

Everything you're describing is just you playing too slow. You got used to IRL with friends where you can have duels that last over an hour, time isn't that much of an issue there, but since you got a timer here, you gotta pick up the pace.

Sorry OP, it is you slow playing.

if you know your combos then you should know what plays to make and should make them right after another.

Unless you're facing a complicated board there's no reason for you to be slow.

If I can resolve grass and perform full dragon link combo ending on whatever nonsense I think you can manage marincess in the timer while I agree maybe a little time should be given on start of opponents turn it has come up in the past usually say turn 4 or so with alot happening my suggestion is simply if your under 50 seconds give 30 seconds with a hard cap at 50 or 60 that being said it very rarely actually matters

Your turn isn't for thinking, it's for playing. You start first, you should know what move you wanna make if you know your deck, you start second, you got whatever time your opponent needs to play to think of a strategy based on what you got in hand and what he is putting down. If your first draw changes that or your opponent interrupts you, then 15-30 secs are more than enough to think what to do. So, yeah you just slow play for whatever reason.

I regret ever posting this issue, the master duel community is clearly entitled, aggresive and unwelcoming, also everyone here wants to flex how fast they play, I get it you play super fast, but the issue was never the speed, it was losing when clearly you should be winning because of time, to everyone who tells me, I dont have this issue, know it doesn't mean the issue is nonexistant. I wished to talk about this in a civilized manner, instead I was told how bad I am at the game and that I should git gud. If that is not toxic I don't know what it is, I'm done trying to have a conversation with this game community.

Saying you're playing slow or to play faster isn't toxic. On top of that there is literally nothing else we can tell you when you say this.

There's also this, so you calling everyone else in the game entitled while you're saying you play slower on purpose so you can play at your own pace since it feels better for you is entitlement.

You are saying you don't value the other players time and would like to do it at your own pace. Which is without me cross referencing it to what you said earlier since i get it. Thinking about the other player as a person isn't a requirement. But for the devs both players matter. Not just turn player.

Again i say this as someone who also wants the timer changes reversed. But not for the samme reasons as you.

you were told you shouldn't take that long to play a marincess turn by someone else who plays the deck and I fully agree there are plenty of decks with long turns than that and they still fit cleanly within the timer I agree with you that duels ending in time wins sucks but if its happening alot then maybe its you i've almost lost to timer maybe one time I can remember and i've won via timer so few times I could probably count it on 1 hand while something could be put in place to give a bit of bonus for reactions if your running low on time is reasonable but overall nothing has really changed that much

Agreed, They created Casual and Solo for players to test their decks.
The turn timer changes is to make sure people with long combo decks knows their decks to keep up the pace and change also combat stalling "playing at your own pace"....
Ranked is no longer place to slowly test (redo mid combo...etc) so you get rewarded. You have do it in Solo or Casual

Next changes, make it even shorter to nearly combat stalling in all ways in December.
I think this whole thread and the concern from op is invalid because user indicated "wanted to play at own pace" and being disruptive when people are not fully siding with him

I think they should make an option so if you run out of time and it isn't your turn, you immediatly forfiet all options and don't activate anything instead of losing. Or if your opponent activates something you need to decide (say which of these 3 cards to add to your hand) it choses randomly. I don't mean an advanced Konami dueling AI that knows your opponent's cards like Legacy of the Duelist's NPC. I mean completly at random. Then you will always get to have your turn.
