Have a look at this link and see if some of them are from secret packs
https://game8.co/games/Yu-Gi-Oh-Master-Duel/archives/354390
note that not all staples are equal and you should prioritise Ash/MaxxC/Droplet/impermanence/called by/feather duster
Making a deck that has most of its cards in master packs is suicide. If you want to play Albaz you should wait for a possible structure deck to release maybe when Despia will become meta.
But honestly most if not all archetypes can be found in secret packs so you should start from there. Buy secret packs, disassemble what you don't need, craft cards from the master pack with the CP you got.
The game is very f2p but you do need to spend your gems intelligently and do your missions regularly.
Or just....craft them? You can't expect to pull every single UR you need even out of the selection packs, I've spent like 25k gems on the swordsoul one without ever seeing mo-ye or heavenly prison, this system is not made for you to pull every UR you need but to destroy ones you don't need and craft ones you need
Telling someone to wait for a possible structure deck that might never come lol.
if you missed that or you need certain staples that dont belong to any archetype, the best way to get them is by crafting them.
the game is pretty generous with resources, you can literally make solid deck just by using starting resources, and you can get enough resources to make at least one new deck from latest special pack per month. However, being f2p game, obviously it wont give you resources to get all of the cards right away, so you will need to be careful to choose what you gonna build.
Or alternatively, the game wont stop you for making multiple IDs, so you can just build different deck as much as you want.
Thank you.
Not saying to buy gems, just to realize a game usually needs some way for monetization to keep the lights on and servers up
and master pack good cards are a clear way to spend your crafting mats.. or whale out
The only master packs I'd get are the ones attached to any of those UR bundles that you want.
Its just sucks to offer cards for a few months and then they disappear into a pack set that is pointless to purchase. why have it in the game then if people know its a terrible thing to buy? I've bought all the master pack bundles because those are actual value. But outside of that there is no reason to purchase master packs. so then why have the pack at all?
You spend your mats on the individual cards, not on the master packs.
Without going into an entire lecture about basic economics for you, it's all about balance.
The amount of free gems given is highly calculated for a reason.
The chances of each pack, Normal, Secret, and Master are each different but are also all individually highly calculated for a reason.
The real crux of your statement being an opinion based on your thoughts and not how konami makes money on a video game whose purpose is to make money is "i dont think this is correct at all." without really knowing, or using available data to back up an assumption.
The master pack does have a few obvious reasons. It adds to the card pool, it's also a whale money outlet once they have fulfilled their needed archetypes, they want something else to gamble on and have the money to spend. not every product is for every customer, but providing multiple products to fulfill the needs of multiple customer markets is the thinking.
Now I agree that it sucks. not only your point of making rotation packs only available for a certain amount of time, but also the way in which secret packs are only available for 24 hours, making a strong incentive to "binge" that pack to fill out a whole archetype at a time.
as i mentioned before, even in those packs you have like 10-12 different URs and a lot of times you will get 1 or 0 URs in a 1k gem pull, the chance of getting one you actually need is minuscule, so returning players and new players have to invest roughly the same because they need to craft 90% of the URs they need anyways
yeah it's a bit deceptive.
Now that the frontloaded gem rewards have been burned through by a lot of players, the blinders are starting to come off that "master duel is way more f2p friendly than DL" is true in some ways, but very untrue in other ways especially if future archetypes are super UR heavy aligning with power creep etc
