I just made a comment about this in the Pot Of Greed post, what are the chances that now someone wants to know why it's banned.

A free +2 in a strong engine is too good. Hitting the strength of the monsters that go into DPE rather than making the ways to go into DPE unusable was one way to solve the DPE problem.

Tho i'd still have them ban Verte instead this was an alternative, i guess. Shoulda banned Dasher too if they wanted to stop people from having positive side effects.

This just tells me that this game is being handled by a group of apes. There 100 other cards that should be banned and they focus on this sh*t. I only ever saw Celestial being used to summon Dark Phoneix, which hasn't changed really btw, I can still do it with a different card and get same result. Oh yay, they limited dark fusion to one card, big deal.

imo dpe was the least bad card of the cancerous extra deck that the adventure/swordsoul/floo players use. dpe only destroys but all the others negate and sometimes also destroy. adventure and friends make baronne basically free and guaranteed on your first turn.... not good

The Branded stuff is coming soon so they probably wanted to keep verte alive a little longer to promote it, which is stupid but it is what it is.

How and why would you make Baronne with Adventure? The engine facilitates you a free negate and removal, why sacrifice that for a one time chance negation?

Keep in mind this is Konami we're talking about...the people who effectively abandoned gaming for pachinko machine investment (which backfired since the Japanese Government started regulating pachinko machines), gaslit one of the world's most prolific developers (Kojima) while also arguably violating several employment laws and recently had an OCG (Konami proper is a Japanese company, which is where the OCG is a thing) format so bad that it was literally a tier 0 format...

Like, I enjoy yugioh and MD to an extent...but Konami is basically allergic to common sense. They're one of the worst developers in the games industry and have a terrible reputation.

Such a pointless ban really, I only used him to summon phoneix enforcer who I can still summon with a different hero.

Extenders.

If you use Red Rose Dragon to make the Baronne, it also gives you the mats for Halq and you basically have free combo.
