It likely changes depending on region and stuff. Back in the day there were always 3-4 woman/girls at any event and thats just what i would see in passing. The age ranges used to be pretty large too, i don't imagine that changed.

Yugioh was the schoolyard game for kids when i played physical. So 1 in 3 players were female as far as i knew. Like you in your trio friend group would come across another group exactly like yours all the time.

Been awhile though. Not sure if its changed but generally 1 in 3 seems to be a common number for male to female ratios in male dominated passtimes where i live.

Grew up in Canada, and back when I was in elementary, ZERO girls played this game in school.

Eventually the boys dropped the game too because Beyblades became the next cool thing. Good times.

I do remember YGO dropped a huge lot when Beyblades became a thing, you obviously couldn't play both at the same time, and kids being kids, everyone wanted to fit in.

Also, the cement does damage the blades' ass, there were people that brought their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ overpriced plastic arenas to school.

I'm the odd kid out actually, while I did have real cards and real beyblades, I never brought them to school due to worries of theft (plus my mom wouldn't let me anyway). I only brought my GBA once on the last day before summer.

Canada sounds weird. I mean if you want to do something you do it. Whats there to fit in about? Only ever seen bullies interact in that fashion.
