Those New Tutorial Missions Can Be Rough
So yeah, new player havin' trouble with the tutorial, laugh if you want :v

The 'Link Summoning' tutorial stage where you have a Code Talker deck and the opponent has a Gouki deck, I have absolutely no idea how to really handle that deck. I have a destruction card that I've used on every single card they've brought out, and it feels like it all results in my field getting cleared regardless of what I actually destroy. I can blow everything to get one of the big monsters in my Extra Deck out, but then the AI just seems to bring out a card that halves its ATK and then beats over it anyways.

Seems a bit weird that this is meant to be a tutorial, but this and a few previous tutorial stages have just felt like blind luck than anything else. Except for the stage that gives you Destiny Board, you can apparently just pass turn over and over and insta-win on that one >_>

Not really it's just learn how to play with the archetype and that's it, no different from the rest of the solo missions except they still feel the need to hand hold your starting play

they can be pretty rough I agree, they do remind me of those old yugioh solve a puzzle in one move things too

The decks you get in the missions are usually trash. Just play over and quit unless you get the perfect hand.

in these particular training missions you get the same cards every time unless you make a different play

Have you done the Appliancer one yet? That one ♥♥♥♥♥♥ killed my joy. As someone who isn't new most were just simple but man, if you are new i think you're gonna have a hell of a time with that.

A tip: Read the effects of the Appliancer's over and over. The ♥♥♥♥'s so weird.

Those tutorials are there to make people aware of what they're getting into. In this way we avoid new seasons of crying from beaten people when they take their first steps in the jungle that is yugioh. It is something necessary for the mental health of new players.

No people are still gonna whine about what others use even if they know what they're getting into

Only Appliancer gave me a little headache as I wasnt familiar with the archetype. Still first tryed all of the trials. Easy compared to the SP Deck Trials

I mean, I'm tryin' to run a largely-pure Toon deck cause I like Toons, so it's not like I expect to win in Ranked or anything. It's just the inconsistency of how these tutorial missions have felt, for supposedly being 2-star difficulty. The one teaching you about graveyard summoning was infinitely easier by comparison.
