This game literally throws currency at you and if you've EVER played Duel Links, you know that the crafting/pack/pity timers are actually REALLY generous for Konami.
Card games are always going to be somewhat pay to win but I have a really hard time thinking this one is penny pinching. You'd get less for you money in Hearthstone, and Hearthstone is also pretty generous.
Tell me you don't play modern yugioh without telling me you don't play modern yugioh.
You are playing against Drytron and you have no handtraps.
The Drytron player goes full combo and setup herald of ultimateness with 4 negates.
You activate a card, it gets negated (Repeat this 4 times).
You don't get to do anything in your turn and proceed to lose.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's doing with Handraps now:
Your opponent attempts to add a card from deck to hand.
You Ash them. Now they have one less combo piece.
Your opponent attempts to special summon a monster.
You drop Maxx C and their turn is over.
Limiting the special summon to 5 times per turn accomplishes nothing as the players would look for the next deck that can setup the strongest board in 1 normal summon and 5 Special summons, then that deck becomes meta and people complain again.
