Can't finish deck; now what
As title says. Want to build a deck, ran out of gems, didn't get the important playmakers needed for said deck nor enough SR/UR cards to gain the points necessary to craft the missing cards, of which there's quite a few.

So now what do I do?

You should have more than enough gems by buying the gold mission pass when you first start which is pretty much free with your 1000 free gems.
Then by playing solo and doing duels you should have more than enough gems + cards to dismantle to make 3-4 decks.

I was able to create 3 of my main decks with no issues with tons left over for more

The $28.99 gem packs are pretty nice value for the $$. you get about $60-$65 worth of gems there, so if you really need to you can always start buying gems, or try to earn more gems in solo mode if you haven't completed that yet.

you can also earn gems by playing solo

Okay, maybe I should rephrase;

"What now, assuming I'm not a whale who wants to waste money on virtual cards."

As far as I can tell you only get gems in solo from the first few missions and all the rest are element points and structure decks which don't help me.

You continue earning through your Missions which include solo duels. Keep playing solo mode.

just spam games with a budget deck and get seal clubbed 90% of the time and get rewards the other 10% where some other lower noob ff's against your t1

pretty much the state of yugioh tbh, seal club or get seal clubbed.

You didn't get enough gems to buy packs and melt down those cards? Are you running a 40 UR deck? Just use budget options til you get enough. Or reroll

you always get some gems by doing the missions behind the gate, just remember to switch from loner deck to my deck
Also I think solo mission do count towards your mission progress where you can also get gems

also it isn't really "whaling" to support the game as a regular level, booster boxes cost $60-80 IRL, here you get pretty much the same investment at $2 per pack, 8 cards and guaranteed good cards on 10 pulls. Usually more than the amount of supers/urs you'd pull in a physical booster box too.

People keep talking about missions but I don't think I've seen anything about missions up til this point. Could you elaborate on that please?

I had enough gems to buy packs. But I bought other packs for a different deck which while more my style is not consistent enough for me to do much, in part because I didn't get the main cards I needed for it. So I'm trying a deck I know is more consistent, but I only have so many gems left.

Booster boxes give me real cards which I can sell for real money. Digital cards aren't worth the bytes they're made with. This isn't me being hostile towards you. just in case it comes off that way - it's just me being very, very clear on my stance that paying for virtual cards is dumb.

what deck are you trying to finish? if everything is really bad create a new account and spend all free gems on this Eldlich deck it looks strong. Also shaddoll/Invoked/etc

I really don' think creating a new account is a good strategy for anything considering that means making a new steam account.

...Ah, I just found those missions. I've managed to completely miss that part of the UI since I'm always looking at the left side of the screen :P

Gold Mission Pass only reimburses your 600 gems. You should buy it for that reason though since it gives plenty of other bonuses alongside it.

Did I say create a new steam account, lol, I mean create a new Master duel account, if you've used up all the resources and you still don't have a playable deck, maybe starting over is the only way out before it's too late.
It might be nasty to be stuck with a Blue Eyes deck among all these Aleisters and Shaddolls
