(For any mention of the "Start" button for console: on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, press Menu; on PlayStation 4 or 5, press Options; on Nintendo Switch, press +. On Nintendo Switch, you may instead tap the menu icon on the touchscreen in handheld mode.)
To save to Konami ID, do so from the game's home screen (like what miauru3d posted): the one with Duel/Deck/Solo/Shop on the left. Click on the menu icon on the top-right (press Start on console), select "Data Transfer", then use your phone to scan the QR code and log into your Konami ID account.
To import from Konami ID, do so from the title screen, BEFORE you start the game. (If you have already started the game, you need to completely wipe your save data for this game on this platform; this varies by platform.) Click on the menu icon on the bottom-right (press Start on console), then select "Data Transfer", then use your phone to scan the QR code and log into your Konami ID account.
NOTES:
If your Konami ID account does not yet have a Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel game account attached to it, Data Transfer will fail, but you can try again once it does have a game account.
Also, even if your Konami ID is Japanese (such as for buying and using PASELI for beatmania IIDX INFINITAS or SOUND VOLTEX EXCEED GEAR Konaste), you can still connect an American Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel game account. I assume other regions' game accounts will work as well, but I can't say for certain.
Well, just tried this and ended with overwriting my data so it's not the solution to it. But doesn't make any sense. All of you face this problem only on Switch?
Sadly nothing has worked. I have filled out a form on Konami's website. We will see what they say.
There's a statement people tend to use in times like this. "F--- Konami."
