How to data transfer from Steam to switch?
I already played a few hours in steam version, i want to move to switch, When i try to link my Konami Id in steam it says "you already have data in this account"

In the switch it says there is not data to transfer
I already linked my konami Id to my duel links account in steam, maybe that is the issue?

Yeah, I'm having this same issue, I think its because the Switch save is treated as its own account already. But I don't think linking your Konami account to Steam is the issue here.

For everyone who hasn't figured it out yet: first you link your save on your main platform to Konami ID, then you do Data Transfer from the title screen on your other platforms.

(For any mention of the "Start" button for console: on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, press Menu; on PlayStation 4 or 5, press Options; on Nintendo Switch, press +. On Nintendo Switch, you may instead tap the menu icon on the touchscreen in handheld mode.)

To save to Konami ID, do so from the game's home screen (like what miauru3d posted): the one with Duel/Deck/Solo/Shop on the left. Click on the menu icon on the top-right (press Start on console), select "Data Transfer", then use your phone to scan the QR code and log into your Konami ID account.

To import from Konami ID, do so from the title screen, BEFORE you start the game. (If you have already started the game, you need to completely wipe your save data for this game on this platform; this varies by platform.) Click on the menu icon on the bottom-right (press Start on console), then select "Data Transfer", then use your phone to scan the QR code and log into your Konami ID account.

NOTES:
If your Konami ID account does not yet have a Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel game account attached to it, Data Transfer will fail, but you can try again once it does have a game account.
Also, even if your Konami ID is Japanese (such as for buying and using PASELI for beatmania IIDX INFINITAS or SOUND VOLTEX EXCEED GEAR Konaste), you can still connect an American Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel game account. I assume other regions' game accounts will work as well, but I can't say for certain.

for whatever reason I HAD to use the QR-Code to transfer data, going to the site manually just gave me an "invalid access" error.

Well, just tried this and ended with overwriting my data so it's not the solution to it. But doesn't make any sense. All of you face this problem only on Switch?

Is there a proper solution to this? I messed up the first time I started Master Duel on the Switch and it still is unclear how I get my PC account on my Switch account.

You might not be able to sync your data to your Switch anymore. Try deleting the save data for this Master Duel on your Switch, and then following my directions in my other comment. If it doesn't work, then your only shot is contacting Konami tech support.

Thank you for the response!

Sadly nothing has worked. I have filled out a form on Konami's website. We will see what they say.

Konami's response:

Thank you for contacting Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel support.

In regards to your concern, you can create one account for each platform, but if you start with a new account, it cannot be transferred to other platforms.

However, if you use the same PSN account for PS4 and PS5, it will be the same Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL account.

Also, if you use the same "Microsoft Account" on Xbox One and Xbox|Series X, or Nintendo Switch it will be the same function as on PS.

The above applies to account linking as well, and cannot be linked to other platforms or accounts.

This is the specification of the game on consoles.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.

That's unfortunate. If deleting your save data on the console does nothing (that is, the game restores from server), and Konami refuses to delete your Switch's data on their servers, there's nothing left you can do.

There's a statement people tend to use in times like this. "F--- Konami."

Still having issues with this in 2024. A workaround was to create a new switch account and then launching. Annoying but worked for me!
