Invincible monsters in defense position?
I was running an Ojama deck recently, and I went up against a Blue eyes deck, and towards the end of the game, I was nearly about to win, then they used Monster Reborn to pull out a blue eyes and set in DEF position. No biggie there were already 2 ojama emperors on the field, and they each had enough ATK to kill the blue eyes. This is where things get weird, I made a first attack, and the opponents blue eyes was still standing, havig recieved a shield, as if it were invincible "No big deal" I thought "I'll just wait until next turn" I did. And swung with 2 ojama emps, each AGAIN with enough ATK to kill his monster in DEF position. It was still alive, same little shield effect. So I waited another 12 or 13 turns and after it never died for some reason, despite me having plenty of ATK to kill it each turn, I checked the card history and it ONLY showed him using monster reborn to summon BEWD in DEf position. He didn't target the monster with anything after that, no extra steps, it just became invincible. I'm new to Yu-Gi-Oh so I could be missing something, and I just recently started playing. Do any more experienced players know what might have happened? Or does this seem like foul play? Please help.

Without the full replay, I don't think anyone can tell you specifically what happened.

You probably went against Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon, it can't be destroyed by battle.

If it was Twin Burst his monsters would be banished.

That's only if Twin Burst attacks. I am wrong, though, since he can only be special summoned 2 ways, neither with MR (that I know of anyways).

I don't have the replay, however I do remember it wasn't a Twin Burst, just the stock card name and art. I'm just wondering if any effect like this is possible at all, to make a card fully indestructible permanently, without requiring any other cards on the field? If that's true then I'll just lock this whole thing, it just seemed bizarre. Thank you all anyways for the feedback.

So go grab the replay.

You DO have the replay, in your match history. set it up, make it public and post your ID so we can assist you better.

I played games while waiting for responses, didn't even know there WAS a match history. It's definitely gone by now, but regardless, nobody has answered the original question which was merely, is it possible for someone to have and hold an invincible unkillable creature on the field while also having no other cards effects active?

It's not gone. you can't have done 20 matches in 1 hour unless you spam surrender. Provide proof or don't bother stating falsehoods.

I absolutely did spam surrender, why would I have any reason to lie? and why is every so hung up on the replay? The original question was just asking if what happened was even possible within the rules of the game. If you everyone is refusing to answer that here I can just take this topic onto a yu gi oh thread and get some neckbeard to find the rulings for me. Thanks for the extra stress.

The reason why people want the replay is because without one there's literally no way for us to be able to tell why or how what happened happened and thus there's no way for anyone to answer your question as we're missing the context that a replay could provide.

Help us help you, basically.

it's a bait topic clearly if he acts that way. also saying he went through 20 matches in 1 hour by surrendering and not supplying the replay. totally not a real situation at all.

No one is refusing to answer anything. You screwed up by not providing the replay.

Because there's a hundred reasons why that could happen and it is impossible to determine what one without knowing the actual game state.

To the OP. Are u sure he wasn't running the Equip Spell, Dragon Shield? U can only equip it to Dragon type monsters while they r in defense mode and they can be destroyed by battle or card effects while face-up in defense position; which to me sounds like what u r describing.
