Link summoning
Does anyone else think that Link Summoning is ruining the game?

Not really. Links are a natural progression of the game's summoning mechanics and give worthwhile versatility to ageing decks or strategies that require a little boost. Didn't hurt the game nearly as bad as Pendulums did at launch and still do due to Electrumite

I dont like that links cant be changed into defence position or that are too generic sometimes, but I think are fine

That's been said about Synchros, Xyz, and Pendulums... and the game is still going strong.

Just like REVERSE LEVELS (ranks?), it also healthily keeps AREA-B/GRAVITY BIND at bay too. uwu

Nope, in fact links was the result of needing to put a collar on the rabid dog that the pendulums used to be.

I do wish more link monsters had 'stricter' requirements for summoning to make some of them less splashable, but I also feel that way about a lot of Synchros/Xyz as well.

But the mechanic it's self I'm fine with, and loving Abyss King Gilgamesh in some of my D/D/D variant decks.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Depending on the deck Links aren't overpowered. Evil Twin, my main deck has generic links and their whole mechanic relies on tagging the two main Twins back and forth for their effects.

You should probably.. think of the bigger picture instead of looking at things so narrowly? Evil Twin/Live twin by itself isn't close to even being on the same tier as Dragonmaids and their mechanics.

Konami.. when do you plan on releasing our actual boss, Trouble Sunny? Any day now............. I sleep. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

A lot of anime links are mega strong for no reason, like accesscode talker. Others have neat interactions, restrictions, or are combo extenders that help a decks main purpose.

Link monsters are themselves rarely boss monsters... but decks that can vomit them out are few and far between, mostly being or have been meta decks.
Sunavalon is a great example of a link archetype whose links are centered around the decks main strategy rather than just being a single extremely difficult to get over boss monster.

Yes it already has braked the game, even Mystic Mine players can link summon with one Ash and an other hand trap, for things like Knightmare Phoenix to remove a spell or trap card. That Archtype is not broken but gets to show you how easy it is to have access to link monsters even if you only play spell and trap cards in your main deck. Now imagine what combo players can do with that, well you have modern Yugioh for you, extra deck monsters dont have to be drawn and you have access to at any moment like the Phoenix. Ultimate Offering is still banned which is a total joke in comparison to having access to 15 monsters at any moment. And of course Konami doesnt let you draw Spell and Trap cards from the extra deck with their balancing.
Pot of Extravagance is already underpowered, it should let you bann your entire extra deck and let you draw 2 cards in this and next turn.

My deck utilizes Link summoning and it's worse than tier 5s.

I have already talked about this in my post "The actual problems with modern Yu-Gi-Oh", you might want to look at it.

Long story short, thinking that a summoning mechanic ruins the game is either foolish or naive, the problem is what the cards that use that mechanic do: if all you could Link Summon was Decide Talker and the Charmer links nobody would Link Summon, except to remove the occasional Mind Control target, the problem is a shift in design philosophy of Extra Deck monsters that just so happened to happen in the VRAINS era.
Not this post again...
