If by "banger" you mean "dead", then yes.
I don't know if you heard, but Master Rule 4, when Links were released, limited extra deck special summons for all decks to only the EMZ or a zone where a Link monster points to, and the backlash Konami got was so huge they went on an almost complete 180, keeping only Pendulums locked behind the MR4 rules, all other ED mechanics no longer had to follow that rule.
What you want is an even more extreme restriction than a restriction that got the playerbase to cause such a backlash that could've killed the game if Konami did nothing, and somehow you think people will like it?
Meanwhile I play mediocre Decks like Ojamas and Ancient Gear so im basicly laying down a Monster and place Traps. Maybe a Fusion, Synchro and Link here and there but def. not every time.
I know im losing mainly because I dont use Negate Meta, so im not complaining "WHY DO I ALWAYS LOSE REE" but its still pretty dishearting constantly being denied to, well, play the game because someone throws yet another Ashblossom and that Link Knight who negates
It annoys people who even so much as think of taking more than a minute on their first turn.

They tried with Rush Duels, but it's even worse.
