The viper is, handsdown, the best fighter of all. Make sure to upgrade it as much as you can, and mount Lasers to the hardpoint.

Starting ship imo, its fast, tough and can mount 5 plasma cannons. the ship i use now tho is the second bomber, its just like the cobra but has torpedos too and more shileds and armor
