You can't send goods from one star system to another.
Also i have noticed if you are in another star system, that the production stops everywhere else.
First visit to any system you can purchase 2-3 stations, next visit you can get 2-3 more. But none can build water or oxygen generating structures.
However if you take the trouble to put the required materials into your warehouse it does start production, but I notice that I only receive credit from the current system that I was in.
One Bio Farm which needs 2 crates of Water - 26 credits (13 each) worth and makes 1 Nutrient.
One Habitat which needs 1 Nutrient (made from your own Bio Farm) and 1 Oxygen - 10 credits worth.
So I get 50 Credits for the cost of 36. Now on a bigger scale (which will take weeks and months) it should finance itself fairly well. 10 Bio Farms and Habitats will produce an income of 160 Credits. 100 Farms and Habitats will make 1.600 Credits.
For this experiment I chose Gray Matter 'cause it's the closest one to Earth with the Stations Terra Vita with Oxygen and Poseidon with Water. High amounts (around 170) with a low and stable price.
Now I do have bought Station Hera before Gray Matter and I do have Ship Parts in production at Bastille, it only takes (quite a bit) of time. I also built 2 additional Electronics Factories and an Engineering Module for extra Electronics and Hardware on appearing delivery missions.
The only really expensive things are the Ship Parts for which I have to save up credits:
1 Bio Farm for 10 Ship Parts
1 Habitat for 5 Ship Parts
100 of both will cost me 1.500 Ship Parts.
Aside of all that I still do defend the station, eliminate pirate fleets and delivery missions (only the Ship Part missions I skip). I need the Ship Parts myself to expand.
My fleet so far are:
3 Vipers
1 B-2 Executor
2 T14 Bronto
The Vipers have 5 Laser guns and 2 Ion guns (really not more needed to break through shields). Gunboats are a pain I agree. Boost past the Gunboats, turn around and lock on fast on one. Switch powers from guns to shields and turn off to get out of their turrets fire.
I do take on Capital Ships aswell, only I do a Hit and Run tactic on the Heavy Turrets. As the turret turns to me I turn off before it starts shooting. Dive down, get some distance and re-appear up above to rinse and repeat.
The Corvettes with their Missile Turrets go down easily.
your ships get damaged all time but if you buy high value stuff like ship parts or weapons its worth it.
It is not a good decision to buy all possible stations cuz some give you very good jobs for trade...
so limit yourself to 2-3 station per system and it works just fine.....
i have 14 ships already and 400k credits and a dozen stations in 4 systems with tons of stuff on them....so the empire is rising^^
every ship is maxed to every possible limit. vipers are the best fighter, godzillas best gunboats, brontos best frighter. B1 Bombers the best Bombers and the Brutus is the best heavy fighter(railgun) you can use for free. The ships for money are ALL better....otherwise they wouldnt be worth the real money^^
not sure if its worth to get more stations in other systems..cuz u need to protect your station frighters.....or pirates capture/destroy them....so dont stay too long in one system or the support lines between your stations are crashing.
I hope we get some new options in the future though for gunboats or even some frigates and such too. Something like either a new gunboat with laser and ion turrets or the ability to buy and swap out other pre-existing armaments for different ones. Kinda sad they only have one general area in the home system for water and O2 rather than being able to make the modules on other stations, but at least other systems now can allow purchase of stations with it.
I just mentioned the "Pay2PlayShips" because someone may ask himself are they worth it^^..
