Going through the same issue replaying the game and I wanted to use my "Season One" save as I go into "Season Two".
Season 2 does feature an "Upload" option from its saves screen but frankly I don't even know what it then uploads to. Although the option is not giving an error it's probably still just a leftover from the original build of the game that allowed upload to a Telltale account; I remember those once were a thing. In any case I don't see an accompanying "Download" choice anywhere, and it's moreover only season 2, so seems you'll need to arrange for things manually.
In Windows the saves store to "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead Definitive". I'd just "copy" that entire directory so as to then "paste" onto the Steam Deck. It might be easiest to use a USB-flash stick or alike as intermediary.
The store page for the game seems to say it's a Windows-only title which would be to say that it on the Steam Deck runs via Proton (a Windows compatibility layer) and that you'd need to transfer to the game-specific Proton-equivalent of that location. If you through the Steam Deck's Steam-library game right-click menu pick "Installed Files" -> Browse you might see a file-manager window open in a useful location already but It should I believe in any case be reachable via
/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1449690/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Telltale Games/
You'd delete (with the game closed) any "The Walking Dead Definitive" directory that's there already and copy over the from Windows obtained one from the USB-stick.
I am by the way assuming here that the season 1 saves you have are also from this same Definitive release. If you're in fact talking about season 1 saves from an older standalone season 1 you'd need to adjust things above -- but if you haven't yet run away screaming the above should supposedly help.
