Advice trapping ghost?

I've progressed to the point when you trap the librarian ghost. I'm mostly enjoying the game but sometimes it's very frustrating to trap a ghost. Some ghost I trap quickly and easily. Other times trapping a ghost feels like an eternity filled with frustration and annoyance. I almost rage-quit and deleted the game a couple times, lol.

Those of you who are veterans of this game, can you offer any advice to make trapping easier?

Not much to say other than make sure you lay the trap not too far from the ghost as it means dragging them more towards it and also try to slam them as much as possible to wear them out.

Thanks for the reply. I feel a little silly because I didn't notice there were weapon upgrades. I'm almost at the end of the game and have saved enough money to buy almost every upgrade. Now, trapping ghost is much easier. Just wish I learned this sooner rather than near the end of the game lol.
