Report a translation problem
The idea of Mizuki being an agent isn't really brought up in the first game since she's still a teenager, so that's new info for everyone too.

I think both of them would be displaying very different moods if Date met a terrible fate.
I guess the only thing they spoiled is Mizuki didn't die in the end of the previous game.
However the first game already has multiple endings, any one of them could be "canon" - which this sequel may choose to go on.
There are also possibilities that none of those endings is "canon." The sequel might just decide to continue "by itself" on an unknown/unexplored potential storyline.
We have to wait and see.
